Ginger Nuts are Australian cookies, but he knows how non-Aussies will associate that Minge is Aussie/UK slang for pubic hair.

Tim is brilliant, a genius. Intelligent and funny and very, very good on the piano. Though he is singing ginger, he is infact talking about that word you were thinking of at the start. Cleverly discussing a topic he otherwise couldn't. Other than the message, just damn funny 😂 So many songs and poems and standup and serious songs...all fantastic!

He's australian, ginger nuts are ginger biscuits from arnotts. We eat them from childhood, they can be a bit hard so good for dunking. I think he makes good points about how ridiculous racism is. It makes no sense to bully folks about things they can't change, and that can be a challenge anyway. Bullying and prejudice are the problems, they don't help the challenges at all. Bullies don't improve your eyesight or hearing, just make things worse. The colour of your skin makes no difference to your intellect, does not mean you have no right to decide for yourself or be happy, as long as you don't decide things that make life impossible for others, and that is the same for everybody.

Do yourself a favour and absorb everything Tim creates. He is incredibly intelligent, self reflective and insightful. His piano skills are virtuosic (watch Dark Side - Awesome version). He is not only a comedian but a poet, writer, producer, director and actor, though he considers himself a musician first and foremost, and it's not hard to see why. He has stepped away from comedy a bit in recent years, though his newer stuff is usually still peppered with humour or irony. He wrote the music for Matilda and Groundhog Day musicals. The likely reason you don't know who he is is because he identifies how bad fame is for people and consciously makes an effort to avoid that. At one stage he was playing comedy to sold arenas and could have been a lot more famous if he wanted, but chose to sidestep into other projects like Matilda. I HIGHLY recommend his beat poem "Storm" which is a humorous ode to science and critical thinking. If you're looking for more comedy songs, I would suggest Lullaby. Also take a look at Rock and Roll Nerd (I would suggest watching this one before Dark Side as it gives some context to that song). His work is a very deep and winding rabbit hole with many branches. You can get lost down for months. One last note so you can truly appreciate his genius - he only had lessons to grade 2 (basic piano) and never learnt how to read or write music. He just taught himself about chords and spent lots of time practicing.
