It's quite an irony that the seed of corruption was planted inside one of humanity's greatest heroes by kind words and a bond of trust
@thewayfarer8849
@thewayfarer8849 6 жыл бұрын
Isn't the strongest form of corruption twisting their best attributes? The best lies are salted with truth. If you can make the best of someone turn against them, then they're so much more lost than if you blatantly inflated their failings. Horus stands out as a stronger character for it. It took more for him to fall than say, Fulgrim or Angron, and we can tell because what twisted him was the lack of his reason rather than basic emotions.

Sanguinius, you Glorious Bastard! Get your fantastic, feathered ass back to Terra, would you?! I'm sure you're having quite the time, tomcatting about the galaxy, yucking it up and drinking Sangria whilst your Father and remaining brothers are attempting, literally, to *will* the Cosmos back into Compliance, day after dystopian day! Why, no one's seen Rogal or Jag for thousands of years and your Holy Father... he's been so distraught, that he hasn't spoken to anyone in just as long, not even to mention, leave the Throne itself! And Bobby G... O-ho! Ooh-hoooo, boy! If only he were still asleep! I suppose you've heard of The Lord Regent and his pointy-eared, elitist Xeno Sorceress?! It's all going to Chaos and the Bloody Angel is on holiday! Emperor protect us, we'll all be gurgling for Nurgle soon, if we can't pull off an 11th hour NutPunch to the Ruinous assholes before the Galaxy implodes upon us, probably!

Oh man I am listening to that book (audible) lately I don't have the time to read as I used to but the trip to work (15 minutes in the morning, nearly an hour on the way back) gives me a chance to listen to the book. Horus was such a nice guy, I am dying to hear how he was deceived to raise against his father whom up until now he claims to love so much. It also breaks my heart that he shares some time with Sanguinius early in the book (Horus Rising) to know about their ultimate fate makes that part of the book sad in a way.

@@LyraniaLothar It's been 9 months since your comment so I assume you know now... So tragic, isn't it? And how far into the series did you get? Did you reach _Fulgrim,_ or _A Thousand Sons?_ Both brilliant and very tragic as well.

@@VisionQuest057 I always thought that the traitor Primarchs were just power lusting scumbags. But poor Fulgrim, realizing too late what he had done... But the real tragedy starts right there and then. Some might think that that is his punishment, but no one deserves that.

@@LyraniaLothar For real, the sequence of final moments on Istvaan V is so perfectly orchestrated and tragic. The fate of Magnus and the Thousand Sons is tragic too, and although I've not read Angron's story yet (Slave of Nuceria) I'm looking forward to it! I hear it's one of the most tragic stories of the fallen primarchs.

Beautiful. Another excellent video from the official remembrancer of the Imperium of Man. I am always so excited when I see a notification for one of your videos- I know that I’m going to be in awe for the next 20 minutes or so. And that I’m going to watch the video at least 2 more times, just on the day it comes out. Once every 2-3 months or so, I treat myself to a binge watch of all of your videos. I think if there was ever to be a “History of Earth” put together by all of the governments of the planet, to serve as a basic primer/introduction to humanity for visiting alien races (provided they aren’t just here to destroy or eat us!), that you would be the perfect writer and narrator for it. The style, depth, and accuracy of your content is immersive, complete, and moving. And your speaking voice is rather pleasant. Sorry- I know this sounds like I’m really kissing your ass, but I know I’m not alone in thinking that your lore videos are the pinnacle of the genre. Anyway- thank you for another great video, and I’m eagerly (if impatiently) awaiting the next one. =][=

Great work as usual; I hope you'll be able to do more, covering the other legions, chapters, Imperial Guard regiments and wars/crusades. Truly the triumph at Ullanor marks a stunning victory, yet I like to see how it all goes in details because it must be an important one. However I do think this is the last shining glory of the Great Crusade as the seeds of doubt were laid and Lorgar would then make his move.

These are brilliant, really glad I came across this channel a little while ago. I wonder how your account may be a little coloured when it comes to the White Scars, possibly the 'narrator' figure would seem more travelled as he knew of a private Legion. It's just enough character, the speaker possess foresight, Imperial loyalty and aims for a faithful account devoid of fanaticism or deliberate ambiguity. Two theories I have are that 'Oculus Imperia' is a Gulliman remembrancer contributing to the Codex Imperialis, or a Custodes philosopher akin to Valerion (I favour the former). It doesn't matter so much, but that your presentation allows for that kind of rumination means that each lecture holds a collective interest, and interest in that of the tutor. What Shoddycast's storyteller did, before his personal narrative completely overtook the subject matter. Regardless, I love the content and the relative professionalism. it's 100% lore, no odd jumps in logic or blurring what's being discussed with a jump to M.2. The Matthewmatosis of 40K. I like other 40K channels, but they lack a certain something on review and when learning about the world, because the topical or out of character references pull you out a little. (I'm checking the competition you mentioned, personally a decent writer and a poor artist. Another good video, no particular request as all hold quality even with Legions I don't favour).

Great work good sir, you do an excellent job of capturing the feel of the lore. Although I do have a personal nitpick over the battle for Ullanor. Doesn't it feel a little small? For such a large confrontation of man and ork, only 100,000 astartes? Only 8 million guardsmen? The battle of Stalingrad alone claimed 2 million lives and they're planning to take an Orcish stronghold with 8? Perhaps I'm being pedantic but the scale of 40k battles seems borked to me sometimes.

All ya had to do emps. all you had to do, was explain to your sons, your greatest generals, and most trusted servants WHAT THE F***** WARP WAS! If they had known the nature of what they were dealing with they could have helped by attacking other parts of the galaxy for distraction, Magnus wouldn't have tried to contact you, Horus would have understood the dangers of the Lodges, hell even Lorgar would have understood why you didn't want to be worshiped and likely have understood just how he was being lied to by omission by Chaos. as always, they sum total of all human suffering can be traced back to poor communication.

I think he actually did. At the very least, he schooled Magnus on the subject, to no avail. And Jaghatai Khan knew about it as well. He even argued with the Emperor about his decision to keep Chaos a secret from the wider Imperium.

I love the fact that Magnus is looking at Angron, as if to tell him "Calm the hell down man, you're making a scene" WHile Angron is litterally crushing the marble bannister under his hand, because they forced him to go a whole five minutes without murdering something for the unexcusable crime of being alive and within his line of sight.

Great vid Oc. It is interesting to me that the conclusion of Ullanor, from E's point of view, was just a giant pat on the back for his ego driven primarchs.

It seems like a huge risk to have brought all those forces together, I know they must have put up void shields but still, one xenosh stealth ship with a exterminates weapon could have spealt the end of it all. Or one traitor with a nuke...

I seem to have shit memory... I thought Ullanor was where the Emperor led 1,000 Custodians against hundreds of thousands of Orks, killing all and losing only 3 to save the Primarchs trapped there. What battle was that then?

Day two beginning to end listening campaign update, my employees are beginning to ask warhammer related questions, as I've taken away their speaker privileges for being general shit heads. Maybe I'll make my own game group this way.....eventually.

I really don't like the way you're pronouncing Ullanor 😂 I've literally never heard anyone pronounce it "Youllinor" before lol
