I agree, I wouldn’t want a barrier to high elo play when having a 5man. It be beneficial To have a parameter detecting a 5man queue and putting those into a pool of those who are also looking for 5man versus solo/duo queue pools. No clue how that could be implemented.

If the anticheat isn’t up to snuff the player base will be divided. There also needs to be some kind of FPL equivalent for the top ranked leaderboard players as well to incentivize pros playing premiere. Big shiny number is cool and all but without anything at stake they will play Faceit.

In beta i got 7k Elo with my buddy. - I know, not that good :) - Now after release, we struggle to get above 2500. We keep getting matched against 5 stacks, really good 5 stacks even, compared to us 5000-7500 elo stacks. This game is so broken, gonna switch back to valorant, and probably keep cs2 as an investing platform.

I agree with the way ELO or lack thereof seems to be implemented. I'm on the other side of the issue... Solo player with what amounted to rank Silver 1-3 on CS GO. I'm not good by any metric, but I can't get good if I don't play. And... Well, it's the Wild West out there. For every bottom-scorer on the opposite team, there's also one or two guys that are punching way above their weight rank. Same on my side - I can barely hold my gun right and people on my team already have multiple line-ups for smokes and stuff, which I'm reaaaaaally not used to considering the average Silver level. And then there's matches where I just... don't belong. Where I'm getting curbstomped by everyone else and finish 3-18. I shouldn't have been placed in this match at all. I know it's new and all, and everyone but 2 people (with ~1600 points) I've seen has no ranks yet, but it seems that legacy data from GO isn't used here. Getting those 10 wins feels like a roll of the dice...

CS2 overall is really fun What has taken all my excitement away is the fact that 90% of my matches are filled with at least one griefer + very unskilled player, while facing 2 or 3 decent or overskilled players on the other team. It is so unfair, I'm on a 12 loss streak, I couldn't even get my rank yet lol... It was sorta similar in beta from weeks ago, but at least 40% of the matches were decent/fair It is really disappointing, I guess I'll leave CS2 for this year and comeback next hoping valve has fixed matchmaking/rank system

Lower ELO ranked feels like bullying - there's a ton of sub-100 hour people who haven't played CS since around when GO came out just playing for the first time getting matched with and against myself, a 6000 hour player. I'm not a FaceIt 10 level player, nor would I consider myself some kind of unknown star - I'm just an above average player (and I mean that strictly as a "I'm in the top 50%") and I'm okay with that. Why it feels the need to match me against people who have less than 1% of the playtime that I have who are like rank 16 with 45 hours is really odd, and it just doesn't feel fun for anyone involved. It almost feels like the matchmaking just picks the ten people who chose to queue at that particular moment and have them play against each other, regardless of rank or party size. The reverse of what you said about the ELO gain from beating up solos with no playtime is also true - why should anyone be punished by losing over 100 ELO by getting stomped by a five queue with a former pro coach on their team when they're playing with four randoms? You can still lose ELO going up against dudes with literal double ELO values compared to your own team.

I've only played 3 games of premiere but I top fragged 2 and 2nd fragged one, but for some reason am only verging 1-3k players. In beta I was 8.7k and the 3 other people I was playing with were all 10-12k in beta but now one of them got their rank and is only 3.5k. Not sure if we really just are shit and beta was broken or if full release is broken...

With the cheating subject and VAC Live: I've experienced three matches with cheaters before even getting my rank which is unfortunate because I had a lot of hope for the new system, I've even had one of the matches where the person cheating announced it then proceeded to blatantly use walls and aimbot to just headshot wall-bang positions, to me I feel like I've experienced more cheaters so far than I would have in GO. One of my friends I play with has a theory that the AI was trained with so much illegitimate gameplay that it can't actually understand what is and isn't cheating, I believe this is a possibility considering that overwatch data was likely used to assist in the training of the AI and unfortunately a large number of people using overwatch were using xp-farming bots meaning the data wasn't as accurate as they could have hoped. I'm unsure of if this is actually the case, but my buddy bringing that up makes me definitely think its possible.

I don't think the rank naming scheme is that big of a deal when FaceIt uses a similar system and no one seems to complain about it there. Saying "I'm a 14k player" or whatever is fine to me personally. As for the 5 stack problem, I think they just need to have a solo queue and then a regular queue (aka what it is now). I think removing 5 stacks once you hit a certain rank is silly. Me and my friends are too good so now 2 of them have to sit out now? Don't see that happening. Adding different queuing options would help the situation a lot. Then they just need to fix the actual matchmaking. You either stomp or get stomped. Very few games are actually close.

I have 8k hours, playing cs for over 10 years. Solo cueing for almost a year bcs i moved to europe (not always but almost all the time. Its hard to get people with my experience bcs they have their communitys) i played the beta and it lookd like premier used the csgo rank as reference to put people on the respective lvl after the 10 wins and cuieng actually was putting me with people that also had a few 1k hours. How it also workd in csgo. But those last days after the release were just a shitshow. Soloq is impossible in premier, played 4 matches solo and lost 3 of them against 5 stacks, the game putting me with actually kids and people with just a few hundred hours. I feel like the cue system is unexistent . I understand that ranking system got like a reset or something but it should use the data and elo in sort off a way to give some coherence to put me against people that actually match up with my playtime and steam account. ( i say this bcs in csgo it workd like that, in my main i got a game and atleast 4 guys had a 10yr medal and the others 5yr medal and in my smurf i would get accounts that matched up with the date that it had been created 2021 medal and forwards) in the last 2 days i only played mm in mirage to check up how the ranking system works and what rank it would give me. I got nova1 after stommping silvers and more casual players, i dont have a problem with the rank but it just feels unfair and wrong that the games arent never even, not even oncee after like 24 games in freakin 3 days not even 1 game that felt even. I feel like people like me dont have a chance to get good games. Or its me stommping and carryng or i get a team where everybody has the default crosshair and the enemy team playing together, i mean at best mg2 skill but its just that they atleast have knowledge to play organized and win and im stuck with people that dont know how to refund a gun 😂 i gonna delete the game. Its just frustrating. Its not like they dont have the data to organize the system they just dont care, or the game ia rushed but its a big disappointment. Its time to uninstall and touch somegrass and comeback in a few months. I know its gonna get fixed and things have to fall in place, but this is csgo 2014/2015 all over again. i dont think it took csgo ranks into account after the 10 wins. I was supreme in GO before CS2 beta released and had hit global once before, and i was placed into 1700 elo. But, if i lose a game i dont lose any elo, and if i win im getting 200 elo minimum. if i win 2 or 3 games in a row i start getting 450 plus. After just a few games im already into 5000.

great video, i have another question to raise, in relation to the first games, you need to make 10 victories to earn your elo, however at times you count on receiving 15k of elo only with 10W 10L and then on the other hand you have guys making 10W 2L receiving 6k, i would like to know how this works, another big problem i have caught is the issue of lost points, how is it that with a win rate of 70%+ playing completely solo, there are games taking about 400 points, taking into account that if you win, you make 108... it doesn't make sense, especially when you have a good win rate.

Add a Solo queue, people can and should be able to stack with friends in a 3 stack or duo but, solo queue is complete cancer when you run into 3-4 stack who comm amongst themselves and don't say a single thing in game. And on a side note another issue are the stackers that are toxic who start flaming or blaming it on the 2 other players.

Agreed with all of this. If major changes don't come soon premier will basically be dead on arrival and faceit will still rule (which im fine with, because they actually listen more). I'm new to CS and in my 3rd ever game of Premier I came up against a 5-stack of three 20k ELO players and two 30K rated players who were top 50 in the world. My highest rated teammate was 4.5K ELO. How the matchmaking system deems this allowable is beyond me.

I don't want to see 5-stacks banned above a certain ELO because I think that the team-play, comms and strats that come from that are part of a healthy game, but maybe reward less ELO? Have the system skew toward higher rewards for smaller stacks, this would encourage smaller stacks while not killing 5s for higher ranked play. Yes, have ranks not just colours and numbers. Yes, need better AC. I too am guilty of buying into the VAC-Live hype. CS2 is horrible at the moment, but part of that is the insane peekers advantage too.

Every one on point. But the cheater problem is much bigger on the EU server, expecialy in lower ranks. You can get a cheater in every game few games in a row and after that all you can do is just unistall as you no longer have a will to live and play a next game. So much promised, so much not delivered. Will unistall till something is changed, there are better things to do in life then lose half an hour on games lost even before they start.

Great video. It appears valve has either really misled us or they just accidentally confused the community. I say this because I have played games with multiple people who are new to CS with this release. I can’t imagine just getting on CS for the first time and wanting to hop in a premier match. This is not the way valve is intending this service to be used. This is not the “new competitive” this is above that and people seem to really be missing that point. Also, I was sitting at around 13000 elo in the beta, on release I have dropped down to a 5700 with only a 3% variable in my win rate between the two. What’s happening here? I played a majority of my games solo, had some 13-0s and the amount of games I played against a five stack was stupid. I would say 70% of them. I want this to work so well, I want great competitive cs that makes us leap out of the chair in excitement just like the pros. This ain’t it.

Had some really good points here and some idea's I'd love to see added to the future of CS2. It's just said that Valve doesn't care about cheaters or the players quality of life in the game. Their focus is on making money from Skins and nothing else. I wouldn't be super surprised if this video pops up for me again in 6 months to 1 year and not even half of these issues have been addressed. Premier isn't even worthy of 128tick servers it seems. So it's back to faceit everybody goes cause the leaderbaords will soon but exclusively for cheaters only but don't worry cause Valve will maybe ban some of them every 3 months. I don't know about limiting 5 stacks, cause end of the day it's a 5v5 TEAM game, you need people you can reliably trade with, understand your call outs, understand the timings of nades with you, understand your flow of the game with you as you do theirs. Pro players scrim as a team all the time. If solo players can't get 4 other people together, that sucks, they can still solo queue but again should be a big enough playerbase they shouldn't face 5 stacks all the time, that part I agree with you on.

I think matchmaking is still adjusting from the decade of split player base like the faceit 10s and pros were so far better than even global elites so now that the queues are mixed again, lot of people are going to have a much different rank than back in go, and when it comes to five stacking, they should do the league approach and make five stack ranks entirely different with their own skill pool

Some people keep running and when you shoot em it takes less than 50 milliseconds while running dude shoots you in Head for more than 10 times in a game or there are some people who don't even know what the game is but because of low ping they hit some wtf shots with deagle or dude done nothing in the whole game and suddenly turns into 2015 shroud in last rounds

I Solo qeued the beta and got ranked 4k elo in the beta while having a 1.5 k/d in the 25 matches I played. I was global prior on the mm servers. Being put against and with absolout beginners (that still hit double the amount of headshots they would in go) is the exact opposite of what I expected from the premier mode. Getting 100/200 elo per win would mean I´d have to win like 100 games to get to an elo that would allow for competetive games. Win % seems to be the number one deciding factor in the rank you get, wich makes solo playing completely pointless as no matter how good you are you wont get much higher than a 50/60 % win rate and with the rank resetting every season I see alot of frustration for people that get the wrong elo, as getting ranked at 4k pretty much destroyed the whole beta season for me, as I didnt have a single balanced or competetive game.

lol my first 6 hours of playing premier was an uninterrupted sequence of losses (and a couple of ties) where I was either being completely tanked by terrible teammates or I was the terrible teammate tanking the team. I won the next half-dozen games in a row after that, placed, and got some terrible rank. They really should have bootstrapped placements with some form of performance-based system that shuffles the players going 40-3 into high elo's right away (independent of the binary W/L for the match). Obviously in the long run it doesn't matter, because it will reach equilibrium, but right now it's incredibly painful for non-God-tier players that aren't 5-stacked.

pretty new to cs, played my first solo queue games on cs2lt to get rank and since I am bad and queued with not bad people before, it took almost the entire placement of 40+ games to feel like I was playing with people my skill level. You get flamed/griefing cooldowns for being particularly bad too so yea the new player filtering is pretty miserable. I've had no drive since release to go through placement again.

Liked alot of what was said but no 5 stacks above a certain rank? 5 stacks should only face other 5 stacks, we shouldn't limit players because they want to play with there friends, imagine you have all your friends online but can't play with them because your not allowed to 5 stack, makes no sense! Also I feel the new ranking in Premier is extremely low compared to the beta, I got ranked at 11k elo in the beta with a 55% win rate but then had a 62% win rate in the full release & got put at 5.8K! The only issue I have with Premier is it does not go on individual performance, I shouldn't be losing the same elo as a friend who drops 8 kills 500 damage if I'm dropping 30 2.5k damage, that's one thing that needs to change massively.

there was a smoke by CT and our T team accidentally (?) dropped one as well. we lost 3 team members who all got shot in head through two smokes. one of our team thinks they are just good and probably not cheating. but since we were not in same position behind these two smokes, we shouldn't have been killed. i also get killed a lot by players that were apparently (and should be) blind. so this is also a bit messed up. ok here and there a lucky shot, we've all had those, but multiple times in a match?

And that people don't know what their ELO equals to in CSGO doesn't matter - CSGO is gone and CSGO ranks won't bother people soon. Also, I hope they don't reset ELO every season.. Yeah, i have very little hope for Valve creating a good matchmaking system. They still have so people can grief report you, your enemy can grief report you just cuz they are losing and they get mad and your team can grief you every game for not doing exackly what someone in your team wants you to do. All of my friends are on competitive cooldown for just playing the game, they dont even talk in their game but still they get mass reported and placed on cooldown. We are all waiting for faceit to come out so we can play and not getting grief reported every single match we play.

The only thing rank wise that’s changed from beta is the sample size. My win rate in the beta was like 50% because the average beta player was better. I’ve only lost like one match and gotten 3 13-0’s since the full release. They definitely need to make some changes

Great video, just stumbled across this, im ngl i dont agree with one thing you said which was to not allow 5 stacks after a certain rank, cs is a team game and i feel like at those higher ranks you need to be playing team cs to get anywhere. My experience tho so far as someone who is in EU (UK) i havent even been able to get placed yet because im constantly up against players with 3k+ hours in cs and 5 stacks of them too, i would guess im around the 7-9k elo range as someone who was around gn3 at the end of csgo but i understand the game very well but in cs2 i have no chance as a solo q in premier, its unreal how manmy losses ive had in a row

I played against pro player brehze three times in one day. He had 35000 elo and I had 15k. With 9 -10 k elo players on my team vs his five stack of high elo 20-25k elo like bruh

In fairness though valorant was the same way, a lot of people are being placed where they shouldn't and a lot of my games 1 or 2 people can get their asses carried. And don't quote me on this but I remember hearing maybe in an ESL thing when the cs2 beta arrived, the casters; "valve like 3rd party servers like faceit and esea etc.. etc.. and that they want these community servers to still be a thing" So as for the "just copy faceit" I simply think they still want to give players the option to use these sites after GO.

I keep getting into lobby’s against players with 10k ranking while my team is at 4K. Also consistently being placed against 5 stacks despite only ever solo queing. The matchmaking feels absolutely terrible

when I loose a game the calibration goes back from lets say 8 more wins to calibrate to 9 :D so I will never get a rank also when I solo queu i get 80% 5 stack as enemys. very unfun

It's surprising how few players are ranked at the moment. I'm dogshit at the game and was perpetually silver in cs:go but during beta I was about the millionth ranked player, just won my 10th game yesterday and was ranked 85,000th. I'd guess that in a week or two the majority of players will have gained their rank and hopefully that'll make matchmaking a little better cos I'd say 60% of the time one side or the other are being completely waffle-stomped by clearly superior players. It's pretty much a dice roll on which side has the most players who will be doing the carrying. Imo it should be based off the results of ten games rather than 10 wins, when your results are based of which team has the best carriers it's pretty disheartening and 10 wins is pretty brutal to wrack up, it's not a great introduction for new players, could easily see plenty of people bouncing off it which would be a shame.

I don't think "top player not playing against each other" is necessarily "broken" for the moment. Its better to get the top players at the top of the leaderboard right now considering how the elo system works. Later on it can be adjusted and winrates would make more sense.

The top players would still climb to the top when playing against each other, just the true top top players would climb more quickly than other top players

Yes, that works in the long run like it does in Faceit. But since players won't be playing so many matches at the moment, the players playing "more matches" and who are "slightly better" will go to the top of the leaderboard and the ones who suppose are losing to the top top players would be lower than the players who are significatly worse than them. @@Bumpaah

the solo queue experience is awful. most matches I get stomped with three unranked players on my team going 1/13 each. Very unfun right now. was always MG in csgo, now im 1k elo and slowly climbing

Quality video! Definitely checked all the boxes as far as issues go. I feel Cs2 is off to a good start ( even though rushed) compared to other games as well, although i don't like that Cs2 replaced CSGO, taking away the option to go back to the game people know until major problems get resolved. For the moment, FaceIt is gonna be the way to enjoy the game! ( as much as someone can)

I agree, I'm in west europe, and when I play Premier its the same thing every game : 5 stack in the other side who has much elo and I'm playing with silvers ... I'm 2200 elo on faceit cs go and i play with someone who doesnt know how to move correctly, its like its their first time in the game idk. Horrible xp. I played a game vs silver 1 with cheats shooting the walls with awp like in your video. Very poor release.

I'm low elo, about 4000. Spent my second or third ever match in CS2 against a team with "chayJESUSシ" the number one player in the world with 38,000 elo. We spent the entire time getting one-tapped less than a minute in. What in the name of fuck made the system think that would be fun? That can't even be fun for their teammates, who were kinda just *there* wasting their time not really playing the game while this one guy goes on a single-player rampage.

Thanks for a non-fanboy, fair view. For a game that has been in development for years it feels like a garbage port of cs:go to source 2. Performace is shit, ranking and matchmaking don't work, shooting (after the official release) feels identical to cs:go - which is bad, again no improvement + the addition of dying behind walls way too much. Anti cheat is almost non existant, half the maps and content got removed. It's a huge flop and the fact that all the post-update patches they are doing are very minimal and mostly focus on skins and stickers doesn't give me much hope that any long-time issues that cs:go had are even going to be fixed. Only good thing are the graphics and sounds of the weapons, but then again you have to play on trash graphics to have acceptable fps and positioning of enemies doesn't seem quite right.

Getting rid of 5 stacks is not something that should be considered imo. Getting rid of 4 queues was a complete mistake imo as well. Just let me play with as many friends (up to 5 obviously) as I want. Making someone sit out if you have 4 or 5 people is not fun.

Well first I should probably mention that I am pretty pissed about them removing most of the game and I am refusing to play until they add it back. But ignoring that I really want premier to succeed as I never could play Faceit, especially after they implemented their smurf rules (got account that I have no access to stuck there) and I wish I could play in serious competitive platform after 6 years once again. Anticheat needs to make huge improvements because even in beta it felt like there was about same amount of cheaters than in CSGO. Ranks or elo will balance out with time as people play the game. Also I feel like something should be done to the tyranny of the majority (3 people stacks) who can decide the maps they want to play and the 2 solo queue people will be left crying in the corner. Only solution to this I think is to go to max 2 queue or add rng to map selection. More maps would not hurt, especially more fun ones like for example Subzero or if I dare be a radical, Insertion 1/2. With this said if premier fails and Valve "forgets" to add the missing content to the game, then I see no future for myself in CS after 10+ years of playing.

Cs matchmaking from my experience has always been shit, regarding the unranked players issue i think it would be reasonable for them to just take previous global offensive ranks and shadow-transfer them to cs2, or even match people up by playtime

I agree the mm is trash. First 3 games we played we won 13-0. And 80% of the games we play are a complete stomp. Only lost 4 games, 2 vs blatent cheaters and 2 were close losses against fair competition. They really need to fix this issue because it is just not fun. Unfair mm and way to many cheaters. If it stays like this faceit or quiting will be the only options.
