Yordenis Ugas put on a dominating performance over Mike Dallas Jr., scoring a seventh-round technical knockout victory in their PBC on FS1 headlining bout from Beau Rivage Resort Casino in Biloxi, Mississippi, on February 1, 2020.
Top Cuban welterweight Yordenis Ugas (25-4, 12 KOs) defeated Mike Dallas Jr. (23-4-2, 11 KOs) by seventh-round technical knockout in a showdown that headlined FS1 PBC Fight Night and on FOX Deportes Saturday from Beau Rivage Resort Casino in Biloxi, Mississippi.
Ugas’ sharp defense allowed him to limit Dallas Jr. to an average of just seven landed punches per round. Ugas was also impressive on offense, connecting on 52 percent of his power punches (106/203).
The end came at the 3:00 mark of the seventh round when Dallas Jr.’s corner made the decision to stop the fight.
"I'm not overly excited about my performance, but the most important thing was to get the victory and take a step closer to getting the title shot,” said Ugas.
"The game plan was to come forward, come strong,” Ugas continued. “I always work the body strong and want to push the action and that's what I did tonight.
"The main goal now is to keep winning and fight for a title. I'm ready for all of the top welterweights."

Most people overlooked Ugas' skills because he was supposedly slow and overestimated Pacquiao's speed. They don't realize that boxing is not all about reflexes. Manny is faster but Ugas' though slow had greater timing. And as a former boxer myself, I can honestly say timing beat speed. Isa ako noon sa mga unang matapang na nagsabi na matatalo ni Ugas si Pacquiao and I was right. Ugas had solid fundamentals, a very good counter-puncher, great timing and very patient. Those attributes and style always gives Manny a tough night...kahit sa prime niya. I don't agree sa excuse nila Pacquiao na iyong pulikat niya ang reason kaya siya natalo. No! Manny always fight the same way against counter-puncher with good movements: coming forward in a straight line. Marquez, Morales 1, Mayweather and even against inexperienced Algieri ganoon lagi ang reaction niya against movers. He was always linear.

Spence beat Porter much better than Ugas did. Truth be told a lot of Ugas' success was due to Porter fighting off the back foot more than usual, when Porter pressed Ugas he won their exchanges more often than not. Spence went to war with Porter which is what Porter does best and still won. Porter vs Ugas is debatable, Spence clearly beat Porter. Also Spence is better at blocking, parrying and rolling than Ugas, they have different types of defense. Ugas is still a very good win for Pacquiao though. Although I said Porter vs Ugas is debatable I scored it for Ugas.

Marquez is a mathematician and Marquez had used mathematical strategy by removing manny’s origin of power.
