What a tutorial!!! This solves all my questions. I have only one question to ask. Will this work on full body green screen as well? I wish to do make myself as a miniature for some of my videos. Will this work?
@wolfamri
@wolfamri 8 ай бұрын
Thank you! Yes it does work, but is not as clean because of the shadows. Make sure to wear shoes that have a bery different color/shade of the shadow (e.g. red). White is also not the best idea because you will get spill 😉

Sorry for the spam comments. Excellent series of videos. I will use them all going forward for my clips! Sadly, I cannot afford a Sony camera right now so I'm using my cell phone, but I can get good 4K footage out of it - I just have no control on white balance etc.

It is pretty good explanation. But if we have some problem in particular part then we can make one more clip like that by holding and dral alt key . Then Remove effect on it and the mask the problem

Thank you for your tip. But I’m not quite sure I understand. If the problem has to do with green scree, you can mask the ultra key effect.

Best video on here about color keying and green screens. Can you do a video on how to remove the greenscreen's reflection on glasses and skin?
@wolfamri
@wolfamri 19 күн бұрын
Thank you! The color spill of the green screen isn’t really easy to remove. That’s something Hawaiki keyer does a great job on. However, it is best to avoid it by setting up your green screen as good as possible. Have you seen my green screen lighting video? Regarding the glasses: I don’t really mind that, because the reflections too would be keyed out and basically let the background shine through, which usually works really well. If that doesn’t work for you, you could mask that area on an individual layer and then place the „reflection“ you want underneath that layer. I hope that makes sense 😬

Hi Wolf, i really enjoy your videos! One question. I use a blackmagic cinema 4k. Is best to apply colour grading to BRAW/ProRes before or after i apply the ultra key? All the best, Jacob
@wolfamri
@wolfamri 5 ай бұрын
Thank you 😉. I don't think it will make much of a difference in regard to the keying result, but since you'd want to grade to match the background, I'd say you need to grade after you have placed your green screen footage in front of the final background.

@@wolfamri This is quality content, but yes it is quite niche. I'm using my small spare bedroom and Amazon fabric, but experimenting with backlighting the fabric with good results, a Godox TL60 tube light on the floor behind the fabric. The TL60 is RGB so I can use white fabric to still get a good green screen effect. I don't have a ton of money to throw at lighting, but I do have a couple of SL60W with barn doors, and an Amaran 200D with softbox for the "hero" lol. Foamboard reflectors help a lot. But the biggest thing that affects green screen quality? As you said, it's the size of your room. Anyway, much love from Western Australia :)
@wolfamri
@wolfamri Жыл бұрын
Thank you. I experimented a lot for this video. In the end when I found that green screen editing trick with masking the ultra key filter, I also saw that the evenness of the background is less important than I thought. The only thing that is still left is the green spill on the person and that's an issue with smaller rooms. It's so fun experimenting with lights and comparing the results. Enjoy! Love back from the country with two letters less 😉🤣

@@wolfamri I rent this house so I have no option to paint the wall :( But I love the mounted rails you have on your ceiling, that is so flexible. We use Davinci Resolve, is there an equivalent "Ultra Key" feature? Much love to our non-kangaroo alphabet neighbour :) Western Australia is beautiful in golden hour, especially if you like timelapse, come and visit, I will buy you a beer :)
@wolfamri
@wolfamri Жыл бұрын
🤗 That would be awesome, but I‘m afraid despite having many things on my bucket list, I recently really try to fly less. And I couldn’t go any further than to Australia 🤣. The rails are awesome, but perhaps not as flexible as you might think, unless you have a lot of them. I haven’t used da Vinci Resolve in a long while. But I think you can work with masks, just like in premiere pro. They all basically work the same way.

thank you for the videos, it really is a good technique but I am having problems: so I first key-out the head and it goes well but if I try to use the ultra key again it still edits the head part, so what I am doing is making another mask to only affect the body and not the head nor the background. At this point I have the head and the body key'd-out and it looks good but I can't get the other background parts without messing what I already key'd-out and making a mask to only cover the background without touching the other 2 ultra keys is hard with movement. I've watched the video and when you add the second ultra key it doesn't mess your head-key, why isn't it working like that for me? am I doing something wrong? I don't know if it matters but I also have them in the same order as the video: the head on top, body 2nd and background last
@wolfamri
@wolfamri 4 ай бұрын
That’s weird. Maybe a stupid question from me, but are you maybe not masking the key effect only, but the complete clip? I don’t think so, but just to make sure 😉
@Munffe97
@Munffe97 4 ай бұрын
@@wolfamri hi! yes only masking the key effect like the video, what I ended up doing is making the mask for the hair and another ultra key for everything else minus what I could cut with the clip-mask. I have to say sir thank you so much for this video, I tried every other tutorial that I could find but this one with the multi-keying was the only one that helped me save a bad green screen footage, doing 2 or more key mask to edit the clip is such a genius, simple and efficient solution, I will use this technique again in the future for sure
@wolfamri
@wolfamri 4 ай бұрын
