Hugh, I love your stuff! Do you have a workflow for dealing with ambisonic audio in FCPX? Last time I tried this, I ended up doing the edit in FCPX and then outputting to Premiere to then do the audio mix. But I think I'm going to just start doing 360 edits in Premiere so that I don't have to go through that process. The FCPX 360 edit experience is really good though -- except for the apparent lack of ambisonics and 3D 180 support.

THX for making VR180 workflow look easy enough for a novice to experiment. To save $21/mo on Adobe Premiere Pro, what if the Insta360 Evo App could include workflow-to-youtube? The Pilot Era 360 (8K, 360 only / not VR180) is self-contained and does not require $oftware $ubscription, right?
@hughhou5 жыл бұрын
Yup. Pilot Era is all self-contained. But the video quality is bad without post-processing - same goes with Insta360 one x or EVO - they all look bad without some love in post-production - other KZbinrs keep making tutorials on cellphone edit or very basic edit - but if you see their actual works - you see all the noise, digital compression, color shift...Problems everywhere that will never fly in QA. But for now the biggest problem of VR180 is no app allow you to CUT them and put multiple clips together without a editor like Premiere. Premiere is the only one support VR180 as they develop the whole pipeline directly with Facebook / Oculus and KZbin / Google. I hope there are more tools available. But we are Pioneers in the field so there aren't any tools out there.

I'm so happy that the Oculus Quest Link to PC feature works here and displays in 3D, but I'm having issues with the depth, I suppose. Things that get too close immediately get distorted and it hurts the eyes. I suppose this is because somethings are getting too close. I'm shooting on the Insta360 Evo, is there a way to combat this or change the, I dunno, focal depth or something? Or do I just not need to be too close? Even looking down at the tripod has this issue. Things far away look great, close up not so much. Could it be that premiere doesn't like the oculus link for 3D? As an example in your video, I feel that the girl with the streamers @14:33 would be too close and get distorted.

Looks good Hugh, though you cannot really call it an end-to-end workflow if the footage needs to be equirectangular to begin with..does it have built in lens correction capability like autopano? Adobe has the LCPs or lens correction profiles which could be a powerful thing for this kind of application, but I find it mind boggling that they haven't implemented them for VR production in any of their software yet.
@hughhou6 жыл бұрын
Almost all camera manufacturers have their unwrapped feature so Adobe does not think it is necessary to build the unwarp part. But you are right. It will really help people like us use home brew VR180 rig to have that feature. I will suggest submit on Adobe feature request to get this into their future list. They do think it is necessary at least for After Effects to have it.

Hey Hugh, you are my number one guy! I need some advice, so I've just finished editing my QooCam VR 180, I've followed your work flow, added my Spacial sound with Zoom H2n and it all works out good thanks to your excellent tutorial! I have published to youtube and I can see the Stereoscopic effect works. My question is, which player can I use to run those VR180 finished videos in my Samsung Odyssey VR Headset connected to my Alienware laptop from my local drive, rather than youtube. For those times when you don't have access to fast internet, like Christmas. I've tried NVR, DEO VR, Skybox VR.... none of them seem to work properly. What do you use? Thanks Hugh!!

Nope - this is for Insta360 Pro 2 or Pro 1 - not ONE X.
