I’ve started slowly switching to Davinci Resolve and I don’t regret it at all. The program is far more stable, having fusion (basically AE) built in is amazing, and it’s just a better user experience. The Adobe suite really needs to be remade from the ground up instead of piling new features on ancient code.

I tried resolve seems like cutting and zooming in and out of timeline is clunky. But I'm still very new to it. I feel like I can never leave premiere. even tho I want to!
@__N72 жыл бұрын
DaVinci may be a better interface but that doesn’t make it any better than premiere. Inability for GPU acceleration makes it frustrating sometimes (for free users). Fusion is a nice addition but that’s about it.

it's amazing to see someone else talk about the little tricks in premiere that I've spent years figuring out by myself, it makes me mad that this wasn't available when i started editing years ago this channel has quickly become my favorite on all of youtube just simply because no one else is making tutorials this specific. thank you Jordy keep up the great work. one last tip that helps alot is when you render a section in your timeline and suddenly premiere just decides to drop a few frames showing the media offline error, just select all on your timeline and disable then enable and the frames will magicly apear again. much love from Egypt 🖤

Great tips, especially concerning the black program screen. One of my biggest irks with Premiere is the fact that you cannot access the Effects Menu simply by right clicking. It is so handy in After Effects, but is a definite speed bump in PR.

There are soooo many basic UI considerations like this one that Adobe just overlooks. For all the similarities in the type of work you do within suite, why not have the common functions share the same UI concepts?

This is so funny cause today I couldn't stop complaining about those stuff I was dealing with. I think the thing I hate the most which I'm not sure if it's Premiere or After Effects problem but when I replace with After Effect composition from premiere my audio in After Effect is super low to a point where I almost can't hear it. So, I have to export my clips first then comeback to Premiere and delete my clips so I can only export my audio. Then add the audio from my files to After Effect. It's so stupid but so annoying. Thank you so much for this video, I didn't know I can render the audio so I can see the details. Thank you, amazing as always guys. You helped me out so much through the past 2 years!

I've used Premiere Pro for years as a professional video editor, and throughout all those years, it would always crash. And I'm not just talking about a simple program not responding error - I mean on my laptop, the GPU driver would crash as soon as the 256 GB page file would fill up, and on my desktop with a Ryzen 5950X, an RTX 3090, and 64 GB of RAM, it would black out or BSOD my PC randomly whenever a video effect would be "too much for my GPU to handle" (which isn't possible). And yes, I have an 1000 watt PSU - plenty of power for everything. Heck, Premiere's even flat-out BSOD'd my PC while it was opening a blank project simply because I moved one of the workspace windows. However, about a month ago, I've switched to DaVinci Resolve, and I've never looked back since - it's only crashed once or twice, and when it has, it's simply just a program crash. A lot more things are GPU-accelerated, which in turn leads to faster render times than Premiere Pro. Best of all tho, it auto-saves after pretty much every single edit I do, and unlike Premiere, it doesn't have that annoying pop-up dialog box that shows whenever it auto-saves. So if Resolve does happen to crash, I lose only one or two edits, instead of a whole minute or more in Premiere.

When I used Premiere Pro, I always had problems with rendering/exporting due to the recurring “media offline” error. Despite looking into DaVinci Resolve and trying it out before Premiere Pro, I ultimately switched to Final Cut Pro because I watch a lot of Computer Clan, MKBHD, and iJustine videos, and I got inspired to edit in a similar style to them.

I have completed some of your courses on SkillShare. & I like your teaching style. I was a premiere user before. & it is very user friendly. But, I think DaVinci Resolve will be the next standard. Cause you don't have to switch between apps. So I started to learn it & fall in love with it. Resolve is far Superior when it's comes to post production. But yeah it has a stiff learning curves. But that is for the good man.

Quit. Then go to Davinci. You can edit audio (like audition), color grade (FAR BETTER than in PR), and create effects as good as or better than AE. It maximizes your computer’s capabilities allowing you to buy a cheaper computer. Not only that, but you can the free version which is almost as good PR. And if you would want to get those extra effects, you can pay a one time purchase for $300. The choice seems clear to me. But if your on the fence, you should consider getting the free version.
