Good review, I see nothing wrong wit the guy excellent playing, walks you through the basics, would love to see the complainers do his job.

I would love to review - but the job went to someone with an impeccable playing CV. The playing is lovely, mine sucks. The monotone-reading-a-manual and missing out the small matter of ease of programming needs work - you buy something like this because it's a package that works for you - fumbling on stage loses you the gig. It's not a good review eg when demonstrating the reverb turning it up to full would have clearly shown the difference between the presets - I couldn't hear if there really was a difference between spring and room settings at that level. Taking it to an extreme would - you need to understand the medium (KZbin) you are working with. Reviewing is a sales job, great players are not always good salesmen. PG suffered from reviewers who were not excellent players and were also only moderate reviewers. Paul R @ GW can play OK but suffers from inarticulacy. Andy from PGS is the current best - plays many styles and understands how to demonstrate gear without having played guitar for the stars. PG needs a reviewer - maybe JB will grow into it.

Sorry, but I had to chuckle a bit. I couldn't stop thinking about Jim Carrey (ala Ace Ventura) doing this demo. "Alllllllrighty then... Let's take a look at that reverb (turns to the camera dramatically) ... shall we?"

HE'S NOT A SPEAKER, BUT DOES 100'S Times a better job than Paul from GW..
@pd416511 жыл бұрын
Paul should not be allowed to speak when reviewing, it would flow better with smoke signals or creative grunting. Paul does, however, have a grasp of how to review gear, even though the shredding gets monotonous.

He does do good reviews. His Rig Rundown interviews are hard for me to watch, though. He is actually a really good guitar player that has recorded and toured with major artists and also was the band leader for Nashville Star.

I like the unit & I like him. Good general overview of the unit. Got me wanting to investigate it further....

At least they got someone to review who can actually play.

Another fine review John! Keep it up.

I like this unit... three features I really like are the blend on the distortion (thats awesome!)... the boost setting (functionality and location)... and the two outs for dual amps (also awesome!). Really simple features that are extremely useful to players. Wow.. You could A-B to two of these and have some serious shit happening with 4 different amps! .. I have to check these out.

I quite like John Bohlinger's playing and reviews but cannot stand his "Welcome to my show" approach to rig rundowns. Charley Sauffley should be the only man doing rig rundowns from now on

Amen. I got nothing against the guy himself, but he just can't do rig rundowns. I just can't watch the ones he does, they're just so poorly done.

4-5 very average PC board Fx in a single box. The ONLY thing that would make me buy it - the ability to save song patches for a live set list - was not even mentioned. How about a redo showing the memory settings if there are any ?

Reminds me of one of those multi fx units from the 80s

Key point: ability to play doesn't mean ability to review. His vids are little more than user manual info, with a few tone samples. I'm surprised he doesn't tell us which jack to plug the guitar into.

I personally think John should stick to the demos. He shouldn't do the Rig Rundowns.

But what about the review? If I want to hear playing I don't watch gear reviews. + Why sit so close to the amp with single coils...NOISY. Allegedly there is programmability. What about it? The playing was nice. The Dalek reading the manual needs work. And what's with the 'camera's over here, no over here' nonsense?
