Wes has changed guitar tone forever. He achieved the sound metal tone hunters have searched for since the first time they practiced Rose of Sharyn on their gio and Spyder2(insane mode- not the artist fx stuff, a purist.) Harmonically balanced sludge. Beautiful.

If you likebthat style, the TC "Mimiq" is a great "Doubler" pedal (for the "2+ guitar" sound), especially after an ABY (using both inputs and outputs.. in front of your amps). For just a widening effect, I'd recommend the Surfy Industries "Stereomaker" ABY. But, if you're only using one amp, i'd go with the Keeley "30 MS" Double Tracker (in the loop).

I've never heard of this band but the fact that they use an Iceman makes me incredibly fucking happy because you really don't see a lot of them nowadays but I first discovered them because of Daron Malakian playing them with System of a Down (and the sole reason why I want to try and find one) and immediately fell in love with them and plus you have Paul Stanley who helped make them popular back in the '70s,

14:01 I always heard that wiring the sustainiac can be a bit problematic and if not done properly it creates tons of feedback and unwanted noise which most certainly keeps the average bedroom player away from it. Guys like Vai don't have to worry about that shit, they have professional techs lol

Anybody know….does an Iceman shape solve the problem that Explorer/Kelly/Firebirds have where they’re offset and feel way too big? Seems like the bridge isn’t too far forward, and the big cutaway allows the fretboard to meet the body a bit deeper than other offsets…I may be wrong though
@14xJake10 ай бұрын
I am sure it comes down to player preference but I HATE playing my iceman, it looks sick and sounds great but the shape is very uncomfortable to play sitting down
@redfurydubstep10 ай бұрын
@@14xJake yeah I know what you mean. I’m just on the shorter side, so most offsets feel like basses when I’m playing while standing…it was bothering me since I fell in love with Jackson Kelly’s and I realized it came down to where the fretboard meets the body and the bridge being further into the guitar, as opposed to a LP or any traditional shape. The more I look at it though, the Iceman might be the same deal. Being short sucks!
@larsheuker10 ай бұрын
To me it feels like a strat sitting down, its defenitly good standing up for an offset, no common neck dive
@DarioGuitar10 ай бұрын
I`m also short guy 5 foot 7.5 and love the explorer shape and the only guitar that works for me is the Esp (or ltd) Ex shape. I just got an Esp Ex-II explorer and that one has the Gibson scale 24.75 for small guy like me who also kinda hates keeping guitars low ( and loves playing tech death ) that works wonders especially when playing standing up. @@redfurydubstep
