I bought a Bud about a month ago, and have used it on several gigs in small clubs. It's plenty loud enough, and also sounds great using the direct out, into the PA. The weight and small footprint are a joy. It handles pedals very well.

Very impressive sounds from this amp on various acoustics. Then the electric axe's test comes on: Whoa!! Never heard a so-called acoustic amp producing such greatness under an electric guitar! And from so small a box! As for you, Mr Bohlinger, learning about gear from you is such a productive and pleasant experience. Thank-you!

It's actually an electric amp. It's mainly geared towards jazz guitar players, but it works well with acoustics and overdrive pedals. So, you can do a lot of musical styles with it

A helpfully thorough review, John. It's not often that I watch a gear review and wish some of it was transcribed, but that's the case with this review! Very tasty acoustic work at the top, and the jazzy playing on the ES was great. Thanks for entertaining as you informed.

This is a remarkable amp. I secured one a few months ago because I was after an amp similar to a Polytone. It turned out to be even better. Yet, I've opted to sell it as I'm no longer gigging and don't require the volume or the portability benefits.

You just cost me $1100! So What? The mood boost of the stellar tone will save multiples of that in therapy investments and seeking happiness in hither places.Then there's the little matter of saving my long-abused spine from further damaging amp schlepping. Net result=happier feet, back, ears, spirit, and listeners. Please keep the top notch reviews coming...Profoundly grateful am I.

Nice demo. All the other videos on this amp avoid playing an overdriven electric through the Bud. Thanks for making that part of your presentation. I was wondering how an OD pedal would sound through this thing.
@KarstenJohansson8 жыл бұрын
Good review that really demonstrates how well the amp does for acoustic and semi-acoustic instruments Since it is essentially a mini-PA with a 2 channel mixer and relatively flexible EQ, it probably would be good for voice, too.. Electric was okay but not great, although that may just be the combination. Since the tweeter can be disengaged, I would have liked hearing that sound demonstrated, too..It really did pick up on the acoustic "body" though.

These acoustic amp makers need to start putting IR tech in them. So when you go direct you can turn on IR of a similar guitar on a high end mic

This video is going to get me into trouble. I think my only way out is that purchasing The Bud means I can get rid of two large gig amps and two small practice amps.

I may suggest when reviewing the Bud (or any amp), you don't run a pedal or other effect with it - we want to hear the amp alone to get any idea of what it can do, not the effect pedal thanks - Don
@tedparkinson68925 жыл бұрын
90% of the video had no effects pedal. But I disagree, plugging in the fuzz pedal shows off its versatility. It handles the electric really well. Why not show everything, particularly since the video is heavily weighted towards the 'natural' acoustic sound.

Tubes have long lost the battle to solid state in the jazz and acoustic world. It's not even a contest. It has been decades since.

Garbage demo. All but a couple of minutes were spent doing stuff that hides the possible weaknesses of a solid state amp. Playing a mandolin through it, for example--99% of us don't know what a mandolin sounds like played through a tube amp, and therefore we have nothing to compare the sounds in this demo to.
