Former speaker of the house Bronwyn Bishop says Australian premiers have been raised up and are “full of their own importance”.
“The Prime Minister is preeminent, the premiers are below that but they have been raised up and they are full of their own importance,” Ms Bishop told Sky News host Paul Murray.
“He (the Prime Minister) has to take action to show that the Prime Minister is calling the shots.
“And it’s no good saying he hasn’t got the power because he has.”

They will say it glorifies war and it lionises warmongering thugs. But it does not. And it is both ignorant and naïve to think so. Those who say these things know little of Australian history and less about Australians at war. Every generation believes they have evolved beyond barbarism, and at particular times and in particular places that might have been true. But there are always some who never evolve, who confuse sophistication with civilisation. and so there will always be another war, another tyrant with whom we cannot negotiate, cannot find peace. This is as it was with both Germany and its ally the Ottoman Empire all those years ago. And so, at that dawn landing on the Gallipoli Peninsula 25th April 1915, it became necessary for us to become the monster our adversary was but only to defeat him and most importantly only for a moment. It is how our ANZACS did their duty that matters not only to us as individuals but to our nation because it was in those moments of danger and crisis that their true nature was not only revealed to us but also to the world. Now for those new Australians who feel disengaged from our story let me say just this. Like you, my parents and grandparents came from distant lands, whose first language was not English, and their early years were hard. But they committed themselves wholeheartedly to understanding and to contributing to their new home. And they did, and so did their Australian born children. Join us. This is Australia. It is the magnificent result of thousands of years of oftentimes difficult progress from lack to abundance, from ignorance to wisdom and from defeat to victory. It is the result of prehistoric Aboriginal dreaming, of ancient Greek philosophy, science and mathematics, of ancient Roman jurisprudence and civil law, of Judaeo-Christian morality, of English individual rights and even of the US Constitution which informed the development of our own Australian Constitution. This is our inheritance. But we didn’t earn it. It is a magnificent gift. As my great uncle told me when I was a young man, “Your ancestors’ achievements are not your achievements. The enquiry over the federal aged care debacle is still going and to date federally they still haven't come up with a Covid19 strategy. So just like in Melbourne if significant outbreaks happen in the other state's private aged care setting, there will be repeat aged care debacles and deaths. Sky News is actually talking about the massive negative affects of the Covid-19 policy playbook - which all came out of academia, and the fact that the danger has been exaggerated. Yes they marketed a dream of freedom and if you work hard you can live well. Please DONT STOP talking about this openly. I cant fly home because of flight/quarantine/transit restrictions. I will have to quarantine twice (sydney and brisbane), then I cant leave Aus to go to work if I do get to Aus. I employ 53 people in PNG and may have to shut down. I have been denied exit of Aus even though I have approval to enter PNG. I am a staunch Lib voter, but will change to the greens if they promise me an exit visa. Morrison has lost his spine and let the communist take over. I fxxxking give up on Aus politics, its run by weak men with large egos that talk about science (lol) but only care about power.

Ultimately it is the chief executive who makes the decision based on advices from experts. The chief executive weighs the risks and benefits of different considerations. The decision is not determined by one issue but all issues. In no way is the chief executive going to make any decision by looking at just one issue or from the narrow point of view of one subjective advisor. Subjective because that person has his own sphere of interest to protect. Decision making 101. It is so surprising the PM appears to be helpless in running the country, giving the health officers freedom to decide the fate of the country and banning cures from being prescribed. No one seemed to care if murders had been committed but seemed to care so much about the same group of people dying. This monumental contradiction is so shocking and in our face, it is like an elephant just walked past us and no one noticed even when an old lady was trampled on.
