if anyones offering to help you fix your computer with a remote assistant by using your desktops interface with something like teamviewer, don't do it. teamviewer is not safe to let people remotely use your desktop from, as they can open a window to set a system key "syskey" and they can enter a random password to lock your computer with, if you don't know the password to unlock the computer that they made and didn't tell you, that's how your permanently locked out and would have to have GeekSquad at Best Buy restore your computer with a clean install of Windows via a CD or USB drive they'll have to use to restore your PC. If they have to do it that way, you may potentially lose everything you once had on your computer from being restored because its a clean installment, meaning that Windows will only come with its self made with applications.

What in the actual Hell? "Generally the c: drive doesn't have .inf or .exe files" I came here looking for some cool PC security tricks...but this is garbage. Judging from the comments, a lot of people on here aren't very tech savvy. By all means, I'm not a master, but I'm good enough that I've got a job in the IT field. Let me tell you, your C: drive is almost all circumstances IS your entire hard drive, unless you've got multiples or fancy setups. The average user has just 1 though, and has all their data on that drive. That being said, the C: drive contains all of your data...your videos, music, pictures, programs like Word, Chrome, Media players...the like. EVERY program on your drive has a .exe, which is a file extension for "Executable". All the shortcuts on your desktop or task bar will have a link leading to the given .exe file for that program. What this means is that when you double click your Google Chrome shortcut, it activates the executable file and then launches Chrome. So the fact that this video says there are hardly any is ABSOLUTELY false.

Just cause its exe or inf extension doesnt mean its a virus. Some exe files you can download from malware sites can give viruses. However, inf files are more vulnerable to malware but they are still important

To do so; just search "Show hidden files and folders" check "show hidden files, folders, and drivers" also you wanna uncheck "Hide protected operating system file" if you have windows 7, go to any folder hit organize at the top left, select view hidden files, and follow the same process

Then go to run programm and type "prefetch" and enter. 3. delete all the files from that folder. 4. go to run programm and type "%temp%" and delete all the files. 5. go to run programm and type "recent" and delete all the files inside the folder. then restart your system and change the download location and try to download the files. If it is not download. then please message me I will reply and also I want to know which type of file is not opening??? If it is a flash player related files. you can update your flash player and then try to download. Some times we uninstall the games our flash player was corrupted. Redirect the output to a text file so you can read it. So for example, if I wanted to do a ipconfig /all command and send it's output to a notepad file, I would say ipconfig /all > c:\my_directory etworkinfo.txt This will create a file called networkinfo.txt in the specified directory and send your output from the command in there. Navigate then to the file where it's stored and it should be there. I hope this helps.

Go on windows search and type in msconfig. Navigate to services and/or start up, and check to see if it's running. If so, disable it, restart your computer then try to delete the file. Furthermore, just because it's an autorun.inf file, it doesn't necessarily mean it's a virus. If the problem persists, it may not be a virus and you might have to search elsewhere for the virus.

I just got my new laptop 3 days ago, and how can I trust this process rooting from the claim that "generally, c drive doesn't contain .exe files" when there are a lot of .exe files like a hundred here. will I delete something I should not.
