I got out around 2 years ago. My advice is always go for it. Everyone should serve their country in whatever way they can, be it military, firefighter, EMS, Police, ect. If it's only for a few years, you'll meet the greatest people and make friends like none other.

I had signed up and was very close to attending the assessment centre when shit hit the fan in my personal life. Nonetheless, I'm still only 19, and have opted to actually apply for the Royal Marine Commandos instead.

tbh the army isnt really how it was 6-10 years ago. always remember its a LIFESTYLE, not just a job. Just make sure you get a good job in the army that way you can build a good resume. combat jobs are cool bang bang pew pew but they dont really translate to much on a resume.

It might help to just try and take a moment to relax your mind and body beforehand just so you aren't tempted to inhale.
