Hi Saab Unleashed. I self own a TEYES CC3, 6gb ram and 128gb rom model in my BMW E46 325ci coupe. Last year i started a thread about this head unit on XDA. I can comfirm that this radio works flawless after 8 months after that i installed it in my car. I noticed that you forgot to mention some nice features. They added an automatic OTA update function on his head unit, you don't have to download the updates on your pc, unzip it so you can install it on a usb stick, and walk to the car so you can update the head unit. Not enymore with this unit, you can update directly through 4G of the radio, your phone or wifi. And if you got an sms, it appears for more or less 30 second on the screen of the radio. Than the TPMS... You can unscrew the round plastic cap from the sensor and insert a new battery if the old battery is empty after 4 or 5 years, instead that you have to replace the whole sensor. The usb protocol is 2.0 witch is fast compared with usb 1.0 in other head units like the Xtrons. I placed a powerd industrial usb hub with 7 ports in the trunk for the DAB+ (whitch is also in the trunk to avoid interferences near by the head unit or fuse box), the TPMS and a usb stick with music and video's and my resler module that read al the data from the car with the i-bus app. With the latest update you can choose the color and the form of the home screen. This is indeed the best head unit i ever had after 3 previous android head units. The only thing that could be better is customer support. The language is some times a obstacle and if you ask a question it can take a very long time before you get a response. But that's quite common for all those chinese brand/retailers.

I'm looking for a HU for two years, but is there a button to shut the screen while playing music? Is there a possibility to have the name of the radios with RDS? Can we load apk such waze , vlc, N7player, torque or else, easily? I'll check on XDA but my HU is really old in my old porsche cayenne and I'd like to swap it as soon as possible. I forgot, what about consumption? Does it heat much, I'm leaving in a place where summers hit 30 to 40° celsius, and in a black car... you reach easily 60 to 70°. Can we root it, also? I bought one of these back in March for my Infiniti G37 since it was the only real aftermarket option aside from really ugly, really expensive metra dash kits (because of the way the head unit in the car is integrated, with the screen also displaying your climate controls). The unit has been great for the 10 months I've used it. The stock bluetooth on the car was terribly glitchy and sounded mediocre and through the TEyes has been much better and actually makes the Bose system sound good. I mostly run Android Auto through it but it has been reliable, responsive, and the single best purchase I've made for my car.

I've compared the reviews and features of multiple different Android-based head units. This includes units from Joying, Teyes, Eonon, Atoto, Elinz, and Kingbeats, to name a few. There are good and bad features with them all. However, I think the Teyes CC3 is the best bang for your buck solution overall. What makes them great is they have many custom-kit solutions for a variety of different vehicles. And the beautifully designed user interface is, in my opinion, a step above the rest.

Apart from the beautiful interface and general smooth usability, what TBH shocked me most was the actual sound quality from the units own amplifier. Blown away at the price (cc2 plus). Also the installed orig 8k raw videos scaled to the HD qled colour screen are georgous looking.

I just installed mine this last week. It will boot fast if you allow it to use standby mode at ignition off. This mode can drain your battery if you do not use the car often. I suggest allowing it to totally shut down. Boot time from off is still pretty quick. I must correct you, Android Auto is available wired or wireless.

WOW!!! That is certainly a nice HU. I had an Eonon in my Mazda 3 a few years ago and wasn't happy with it. The one thing I wish these Android HUs had was the ability to connect to a satellite radio tuner like we have in the USA. That's the only thing that's missing IMO. see that's just it! I don't know what I'm giving up? Sirius XM is becoming avail on some of these units that keep the original controller from the car. I want sound quality and I don't mind giving some things up if I have to, but I want to know going into it what I'm sacrificing. some of the new Tesla style units claim you give up no features at all but, do they sound like garbage? what is the build quality like. It's risky to spend the money they want on a piece of junk which can happen with chinese electronics. Thinking about a Mustang 6 Teyes kit?

Oh nice it's a real TPMS, not just silly valve caps that leak. Not that I would bother, but it shows they do things properly. Kinda regretting buying a Joying right now lol but I needed the completely removable/remote screen for my use case

I agree that the design is stellar. What I would love though is if there were and option to mirror the launcher for right wheel drive. I get that you cant move the hardware buttons, but all the launcher shortcuts and app tray being on the left is specifically useful if you're sat on that side. Otherwise, you have to reach across the car to do things. Its turns a small movement you can do at a glance into a large concentrated task.

seems like the teyes unit has more overall features (capacitive buttons, only 360 cam available on the market, better dash cam features). only negative is wired android auto but wireless carplay thankfully. i also noticed joying snapdragon copied their purple blue gradient launcher layout. both still killer value for $, can’t go wrong with either but teyes will win my buy. what are you gonna pick?

The hardware is all the same between the Joying and Teyes units. With that said, Teyes has superior customer service and software design compared to Joying, but it comes at a cost.

I love the 5.1 rca outputs, the only player with such setup ( while others in market comes only with 2 channel rca output) .. I got the 4 channels(front n rear) all the way to my 4 channel amp and 1 to my subwoofer.. Everything runs perfectly with 360cam

Love that these guys do a top mount integration with the 03-09 Legacy/Liberty/Outback. The only other one I'd found was the idoing and the UI here looks a lot better for everyday use. I am curious though, is wireless Android Auto something that can be enabled with a future update or is there a hardware limitation on wired only?

Wireless Android Auto needs the WiFi functionality of the head unit to allow "hotspot" mode, and then you have to have the relevant software installed to enable it

Amazing review. Very helpful! Did you measure the RCA outputs? I heard that many android Hu preamps are super weak and have not even the advertised voltage let alone anything close to an alpine or pioneer. And does the DSP also affect the digital outputs or are these just line outs? I would love to use the RCA outs with 2 class D amps, but if the power is too low I will need to buy expensive DSP amps with digital inputs or a separate DS to not lose volume. I will try to fit this into my Peugeot 5008 with the 3008 harness and cover.

Did u ever get an answer? It seems that reviewers never test this stuff, your lucky if they even connect up an external amp. If it was me I would upgrade to a dsp amp with toslink in. Then forget about headunit dsp etc. This is the future I think.

I just bought a similar unit but with different branding from Ali Express for a bit cheaper than the CC3. It looks identical to the T'eyes except it's lacking the fan and SPDIF & coax connections (there are holes in the chassis for them though). The performance and functionality are just like explained in the video, and the launcher is very similar allthough slightly modified from the T'eyes. I believe the exact same unit is sold under many different brand names.

The physical shape of the CC3 is shared across multiple brands so that they all fit into car dashboard trims. But the hardware specifications are very different. The Teyes is top of the food chain here

Bought one of these off the back of this video and it arrived recently. Came with the Peugeot 206 dash plate to fit it but annoyingly the bottom fins on the HU hit the heater controls when fitting it, and with the angle it comes in at, also the fan hits it. I've had to remove the bottom two screws and loosen to top left and right screws to get the fascia to fit on (also meaning the stereo sticks out and angles up). Other than the questionable fitment choice of what seems like an untested dash kit, the actual device is amazing! It runs so well, so smooth and without issues. It instantly worked with all my built in audio controls for the Peugeot, which is just fantastic. One thing I wish was that on the main widget control button on the left of the home page, I wish we could alter apps to appear there. Would be nice to switch between multiple maps like Google Maps and Waze, and stuff like VLC for video playback, instead of the current choice of default Map app, Car Thing, Rear View and DVR. Interestingly setting the map app to VLC or something else allows me to run any app I want in that main top right section on the home screen, just a shame if i want to change it I have to go into the menu each time and set the default map app to something else.

I have the Teyes cc3 an awesome unit. The only thing I can't get to work is AM radio I just can't pickup any radio stations even when adding an antenna booster. I can pickup FM just fine. When my car had the original stereo I could pickup AM stations. Now I can find the station on my cell phone and play with Bluetooth but if the internet is down or I dont have a phone I cant.

Would love for you to do a video on Android head units after 3 months, 6 months and 1 year. I've been using several different brands, Atoto being one of my favorites as well as this brand. Issue I've had with 100% of all android head units is after about 6 months up to a year, they become very problematic. Constantly having to restart them or "clear the cache". Always trying to do something because it becomes super sluggish and starts to malfunction. I only use 3 apps, only have 3 apps installed beyond the included apps but it doesn't make a difference. My current head unit has only had Spotify installes. Fantastic performance for the first year. Now acts like a galaxy S3 if being used in 2023. Factory resetting only works for a short period but usually back to issues after only a couple weeks. It seems like the internals of these units are all made by the same factory with the UI made by other people. This is very apparent because you can tell the display panel in most of these brands are use the same design. Which leads me to believe that the internals of these units wear out and breaks down fast.

If they don't have your specific vehicle listed just purchased the universal model 2 din! You just need to know if your vehicle used canbus module for steering wheel controls. Steering wheel controls are analog you can wire it into the universal system.

The reason why there is no review of this is because it's not actually needed. This is an Android unit which means there are many variations of navigation you can use - it all depends on what app you install. Google Maps, Waze, TomTom, CoPilot - the list goes on. All of them are different. If you want to test one, install it on your phone and see if you like the interface.

Hard to believe the unit has no drawbacks, which makes me doubt how unbiased this video actually is. also a lot of essentials features are not mentioned in the video: - does it support RDS? from the video at 11:10 it seems it does not, which is a deal breaker alone - vehicle integration is really much more than volume and track control over the steering buttons. can it control the aircon? can it report vehicle status, such as adblue level and other features available on the stock head unit? - can you connect the stock USB port to the device? or do you need to use its proprietary connector? what is the power output of the USB port? is it enough can it charge a connected phone? - does the display support auto dimming and can it be turned off manually during night driving? these are all things i would rather hear that talking about 5 minutes about that car speed gimmick

Yes it has RDS, it actually goes further that that and is compatible with station artwork. Yes it controls aircon if your car allows it through the CANbus network. It shows open doors, parking sensors, steering wheel alignment when reversing - total advanced CANbus integration. Yes, you can connect the factory USB and no idea on the current output. Screen has auto dimming associated with your headlights and yes, you can turn it off. I explained a few of these things in the video.

Excellent reveiw, but I am particularly interested in the FM Radio's RDS functionality ? Does it actually display FM station names ? Same for saved stations, does it display their name or just Frequency ? Finally when Traffic Announcements are enabled does it switch over automatically to Radio, from say Music, to hear them ? I just want to say thank you for this review im glad i found your channel i just got my teyes in and its damn nice. I love everything about it just that the audio just feels not so rich im still been trying to mess with the settings on that. Is there any backup camera would you recommend ? I bought a 30 dollar one on amazon and it just really crappy.

can i use a mono amplifier for the subwoofer and a 4 channel amplifier to use a 2 way kit? Will I have independent control on cc3?

What's the benefit of Optical Toslink out in an android head unit? I have Audison AF M8.12 which has optical in. Does that mean I can connect Head Unit with Optical Out and DSP amplifier with just an optical cable? IF yes, will it be the best connection in terms of Sound quality?

I admire your hard work in putting these videos together. Mekebe M6 Pro Plus 8 + 128 for a Hyundai Sonata or YF 2013. The 9.5 Host Device DOESN'T have the proper LOOM and CANBUS to my car, that I can tell. I have MYFIRSTECH IDATALUNK MAESTRO THR-HK5 with the COMPUSTAR DC3 MODULE and an X1 MAX DRONE. They're supposed to talk to the onboard computer or the Obd2, which allows the steering wheel and AC controllers, and everything else in the car to unlock the doors roll down and up windows, and all kinds of other stuff. In theory, do you think this can bypass the standard loom and CANBUS? The big name brands like Kenwood Pioneer Sony use these. The big question would an image show up on this 2k head unit? Unrelated question can Dash cameras display a image on an Android screen? Or will only ADAS DVR cameras display an image on the android screen?

Great video love the review. Based on this I've just ordered one for my fiat Fiorino van. I'm told that it should be plug and play I'm hoping this is the case. I have ordered 2 different head unit a few weeks ago and iv had to send them back because they don't turn on. I think that the wiring was not right for my van. How well does the mic work for making hands free calling? Do you use the internal one or an external mic? I read that there are some issues with the internal mic and disabling it to use an external mic is also an issue. I'd like to hear more opinions from people who own them.

Anyone know if I'll be able to control volume normally (via head unit) if I use the optical connection to my amplifier/dsp? My amp (helix M SIX DSP) manual suggests I'll lose volume control at the head unit?

It would be great if bluetooth worked, on it. Installed it, scanning finds nothing, not my two phones which can't find it either. So got a big unit without much use since it doesn't have Android auto - thanks Teyes - and it also probably has BT disabled or I got a dud for some reason

I had the unit installed on a chrysler 300C around 18 months ago. I love the unit for it.s features both display and sound. Both the front and back cameras very clear I also have the OBD good. But 3 major problems I am experiencing are the built in mic, radio reception and the main ssue is that the soft touch side buttons do not function. Seems the touch display faulty!

Hi, Purchased the Teyes CC3 October 2023 and as you say a beautiful head unit but but having issues and Teyes support seem to be skirting around the issue. Can you please confirm on your unit do the input Volume balancing controls work for Bluetooth, Music, Phone, Navigator etc? mine do not, the only volume slider that works is for the AM / FM radio and with the mobile phone turned up full Bluetooth music is still barely audible. I have sent them many videos as examples showing the issue but not getting very far, do you have the same problem? do you have an idea how to resolve the issue.

@@ajsfree under Radio when in full screen (at least, on the X1), the very right hand button opens graphics for local radio stations. so you can get radio cover images for each station. if you're talking about the background, on the X1 home screen I click and hold down the screen under the clock and it allows me to choose a wallpaper (background image)

Interface looks nice but would be more convenient when you can use your own app in the navigation window instead of just google maps. The new Vivid launcher that Dasaita uses is just the same. Best interface to me would be just always 2/3 navigation and 1/3 music, and some app buttons in the bottom. To bad split screen has to be selected everytime you switch on. That said, this unit is useless to me unfortunately because it doesn't switch on the factory amplifier in my Toyota Corolla JBL (Dasaita does so without issues)

Hi SU, Firstly, thank you for such great vids! I have watched sooooo many now! I’ve been looking at my options on the CC3 U, but am now very close to making a purchase. Please could you answer/clarify a few things for me to assist with my purchase decision..... 1) If I am reading the information correctly, the CC3 Universal comes with a reversing camera (I know you can but a higher spec Sony one)? 2) I think I need to select the PQ version of the unit as my car is a 2011 VW Eos. Am I right? I'm not car bits skilled! 3) Do I need to purchase the Cambus for the unit or is that included. If so, I’m not sure if the ISO one is the correct one? The information on this being included on their site isn’t that clear, although it does mention 'support' for the Cambus. Thank you in advance for your help. Best wishes, Kevin

I read on XDA, that on Bluetooth is too low, and other people complain about other issue on phone calls quality as well. Hi Saab Unleashed, first of all: thank you for your videos and your reviews - great job! Based upon your installation video for the Jeep Grand Cherokee 2012 Overland, I decided to buy the T’Eyes CC3 and perform the same upgrade, as I do own the exact same car model! Just one question: how did you connect the speakers? I have no sound and still do have that loom with the RCA speaker connectors left over, on the other side the OEM harness from the original stereo is also not connected to the device (ot does not fit in there). I watched your videos approximately 20x, but couldn’t figure it out how you actually did it. 😊 Looking forward to your reply!

Never mind... problem solved! Needed to "turn on" the Amp by connecting the two blue wires, that's all!
