Hi Prentice! Love this!!! I've been a fan of your work ever since I saw you perform "Good Father" on "Verses and Flow" back in 2013. TV One was doing a film screening of your work along with some other poets here in LA and you were part of the Q&A afterwards. I'm a writer, too, so I love how you play with words. My dream is to have you in one of my movies one day. Take care!

"Live on 10th can't go past 25th" That's the story of my neighborhood too. I know I should be happy but this makes me so depressed. Not you but thinking about the mental state we are in. I have a confession I read the willie lynch letter for the first time. It was gut wrenching not because of what happened. To see that his tactics are still in effect today. Mentally we are in the same spot speaking from a general reference. Now you don't have to beat us to work, we'll gladly go everyday until we expire. Peace and many blessings to you for putting yourself out there as a reflecting light of God.

I am as white as they come so I probably don't have a right to comment on this topic but I have always thought it does NOT "reclaim" the "power" of the "N Word" when blacks use it. I think it still sounds like the same disrespectful, demeaning, disenfranchising, abusive epithet no matter who uses it. Ethnic, racial, homophobic, misogynist, anti-semetic, etc. slurs and words are specifically created for the sole purpose of degrading violating hurting and demeaning someone another person or group finds somehow lesser than them. To co-opt or appropriate that word - even 20-50 years later only revives it and gives it new life, almost honoring it and its original creaators I think. Let hateful words and slurs and ideas die along with the thoughts and feelings that created them , I say, and refuse to use the words - ever. Just my humble opinion.
