Preobrazhensky March: Imperial Russian Military March

Preobrazhensky march was the unofficial anthem of the Russian Empire from 1721 to 1815. It was dedicated to the The Preobrazhensky Life-Guard Regiment under Peter the Great but soon became the infamies marching song of the imperial Russian army used in The Great Northern War (1700-1721), Napoleonic Wars (1804-1815) and other wars including WW1 (1914-1918)

@@Jakob-t4y, durig the time of the Great Northern War (1700 - 1721) on third of the Finns died, and Peter the Great was a major culprit to those losses. When his army took over whole Finland, he first tried to create an unhabited buffer zone in the Central Finland (where i am living now). Then he changed his mind and ordered the Western coast of Finland to be totally destoyed up to 40 km depth to prevent the Swedish navy to make any landing operation. So the Kaitera family, which lived in Liminka on the West coast, lost most of it's members. After the war the Kaitera family had to sell some of it's farms by an auction, because there were not enough family people to take care of them. So my ancestor, whose family name originally was Näsi, bought one of those farms. At that time in the West coast the farm name determined the family name, and that tradition changed my ancestor's family name to Kaitera. And I inherited that name 231 year later. That inheriting was the only way to get this family name, because it has been "protected" like some other family names in Finland for several decades. I think, that this Preobrazhensky March might be the most stylish Russian march.
