Technically, you can get a ticket for not switching your license when you move new state. The only exception is military, and college students. If you’re car plated in South Carolina, but you got an Georgia license that’s an dead giveaway to an rookie power trip cop who wants to write an ticket. If you plated your car in Georgia you might be able to get away with it easier.

Dear Anna - Hate to be a debbie downer but the law states you have 48 hours to change your address to Charleston SC once you move there. We ALL have to wait in that friggin line at the DMV. It sucks, but just do it.

She will have an easier time exchanging it with Georgia license in hand than with her saying “she lost it”. Luckily in Michigan the secretary of state still appointment only, they left that way even after covid. You can an same day or next day appointment, walk right in and out!
