What form of hydretain is better for a 5k sqft yard? Looks like I’d get 2 apps out of the gallon vs 1 app from the 15lb bag of granular.
@natewalls48503 жыл бұрын
@@TennisMan93 you’d get more that 2 apps with the gallon, as the app rate is 9oz/1000 so you’d only use 90oz out of the gallon. I tried using the granular last year and I wasn’t happy with it, the liquid is higher priced but you get more out of it per 1000 sq ft.

I wish I would’ve really started to watch your videos but I didn’t think there was so much stuff you could do to grass. I was also busy thinking I was going to go into the workforce right out of high school and good old life threw me a curve ball on that one. But now I can’t wait until next spring now until I can get some of that spoon and Hydrotain and just really make my grass hearty. Because we don’t have a problem with our cool season dying off in the summer, but the more I walk my lawn like you’re talking about in some of these videos the more I see my backyard is so much better than the front. I think that’s because it gets more shade and it’s liking the cooler weather that it can get back there. I’m also hoping if I treat my cool season grass next spring then I can hopefully chase out some of the zoisa grass we have in the front yard because that’s like 1/3 of our yard and it’s just been slowly creeping in and during the fall our yard has 15 different colors and it looks so bad.

Do you not have a video or worksheet on exactly what chemicals to put out and when for St. Augustine and as a bonus the chemical rate, for example, 3 oz per 1,000 square feet. It would be nice to have a sheet that I can look at and say it is May 15th; what do I need to put out if anything.

Ohio is going thru it...snow on Saturday and rain for the next 2 days. This Lawn Care Mom has the greenest grass on the block. Question: I put down pre-emergent April 15th. Am planning to throw down Flagship fert this weekend. Can I also throw down GrubEx at the same time? Need to spray the clover with SpeedZone . Is it safe to throw all of this in one weekend? Thanks in advance!
@Thelawncarenut3 жыл бұрын
for the Flagship and GrubEx, for sure, same day is good - water it all in together. Speedzone needs to sit on the lawn (weeds) so you will not want to water that one in. So maybe spray the weeds after you have watered in the flagship and grub ex. Also, not sure the temps up there, but Speedzone should be applied when it's well under 85F. If it's hot there when you spray, just wait until the evening time.

hey bro - yes I still love MILO. I will be throwing some down for Memorial Day. I just don't talk about it as much anymore because it's getting hard to find.

FINALLY, I see some examples of what I’ve been dealing with in certain spots of my lawn (the grayish areas). I’ll have to supplement and hand water these spots. I don’t think the roots can get deep enough there due to a bunch of rocks under there. I’ve searched the web high and low and have landed on some hope. Thx Allyn.

Its common to have rocks in lawns leftover from construction and for sure that will cause shallow rooting, heat up faster, and suck the moisture from the soil. In some cases though, just checking your irrigation coverage can reveal some easy wins too.

You can rent a roto-tiller and run it in those rocky areas and pull out the rocks by hand. Then some good compost / top soil to level off and re-seed. Do that at a time of year when growing seed makes sense.
