First visit here,don't want to be a pilot,just found you by accident. I just wanted to say,I think it's really cool,that a Pilot, takes his own time out to make these videos for other people. You, Sir, are a pillar of society, Subbed.

I was myself in the only pilot interview I’ve ever had and that was with ryanair, unfortunately i didn’t prepare well and i failed 3 atpl theory papers so unfortunately i didnt get the job, however i enjoyed the experience and i learnt from it, it still kind of scares me thinking how close i was to becoming an airline pilot lol

Mickey Mouse Didnt you try again? Or at an other airliner? :)
@richarddastardly68456 жыл бұрын
I did try again yes, CAE changed their system after my interview & asked everyone to re register and upload documents etc. So I’ve reapplied and I keep everything up to date but I’ve heard nothing. I do apply to other airlines yes, hardly ever get a response though

I brought extra crayons to snack on during the wait for my first pilot interview. I practiced for 4 days beforehand breathing through my nose instead of my mouth. I wore gloves to hide the scabs from dragging my knuckles around so the interviewer wouldn't see. I filled out the online application with help from my local librarian who sounded out the harder words for me. These steps helped me immensely. Also, if you are asked to count something during the interview try not to use your fingers. I put my fingers under the table at the interview and counted in my head. Now I help other pilots because I know it was hard for me. It was a great day when I got hired for my first regional pilot job. I was given my own pack of company crayons at the crew lounge and the flavor they have is better than the crayola crap I was eating for years.

Insightful remark of, "the better you make him or her look, the better you will look." I'm not planning to become a pilot but these videos are interesting to watch (get insight on what airline pilots do). Also the mention of "thinking strategically" about situations like a passenger with medical emergency (first, someone fly the airplane. then get more information on passenger, etc. before actually changing the planned flight). The preview of Leon DiCaprio from the movie is a ***real attention*** getter. Loved the part where he gets a PanAm uniform, walking on the street with hat at jaunty angle and everyone admiring him. The little girl, "Are you a real pilot?" which he answered, "I sure am and what's your name?"

Hey fellow Panda, if you're really thinking about becoming a pilot I recommend you start early, your age is the perfect age for that. Either find flight schools in your neighbourhood or start saving for your flight training. Focus on your education and focus on your goal. I started flying when I was 14 years old and now I have 10 years of experience of flying at an age of 24. Best regards, GoodJohnPanda, Happy landings!

Thank you Capt.Petter! Could you make an episode about CWS mode ?
@avamendez12726 жыл бұрын
Martin R. On the Falcon 8, it is a sub-set of the autopilot. when engaged, CWS maneuvers the aircraft in response to control pressures applied to the side stick
@martin.B7776 жыл бұрын
Thanks Ava! I actually understand the basics of the CSW mode. The B737 has pitch&roll CWS mode, but I've never seen them in action. In the Sim, the A/P once reverted to CWS mode when I was on RNAV approach 10ft AGL with DA set to 50ft radio alt. I just let the A/P continue below the DA...

Hello Mentour Pilot, Can you make a video about what a Flight Dispatcher does, and if it is possible to get a career as a airline pilot if you start off as a Flight Dispatcher? Recently i've come to the conclusion that i most likely would not be able to become a pilot due financial issues, but i still want to do something inside aviation. I would very much appreciate a video explaining what opportunities i can have as a Flight Dispatcher.

What would happen if a Pilot of a two crew flight becomes unfit to fly midflight due to medical reasons or unrest? Does the other pilot request for a passenger willing to fly the aircraft to assist the pilot, or does the other pilot simply fly for the rest of the flight without assistance?

Hi Mentour! Just a while ago I was at SAA interviewing for the govermental financed pilot program, but unfortunately I didn't get a spot. Someone knows what r mack buffets meaning ???? Thx
@MentourPilot6 жыл бұрын
It’s the buffet (turbulence) created by chock-waves from supersonic air flow over the wings. When the chock-wave moves forward on the wings it creates differences in the pressure centre of the wing and that creates the buffet.
