Visit before is a must after all one wouldn't buy a pair of shoes without trying them on and walk in them!!

Your first point resonated so strongly. Surround yourself with like minded people, people who have transitioned to the country of live there. Otherwise those "well meaning" friends and family members will be your shackle to US/UK.

So happy you are back, you were a big inspiration to my family’s move to Kenya from the US last summer. I wish I had done more planning as you have said, we have had to learn the hard way but would never change our decision to move, We love being on the continent.💗💗💗 YES, please create videos on writing an ebook and how to market… I am a parent educator with years of experience.

Many of us listened to our inner voice. Noticing the bombardment of content and being aware of the why's behind the success and failures. For me, I travelled to Tanzania to get my feet wet. Then I most definitely talked to my support system at home. It is not wise not to talk to your family. The separate to move reminds me of what an abuser tells his or her victim, so I advise people to do the research and get your community involved. Other cultures make in Africa and around the world as a community. The reason why we have so many issues when we travel to Africa is because we try it alone. I am still coming back but not in a rush , not without full infostructure in place that I put in place, not alone. It is is really nice to see you Zandela. The answer to your question is that we are wiser. I was following Living my best life in Ghana during Covid and travelled during covid. I've learned a lot. Each step must be my best step. I know some people who have had horrible experiences failing to plan and put structure in place . I agree with you. Plan, do the work and I will see you there.

For a visit I would advise that people travel during off season. October isn’t too bad the air tickets are cheaper and so are the hotels . If you have a partner you might create a plan after the visit and one of you moves to settle the family while the other downsizes and keeps working until you have a solid way of passive income . All the best.

Omg! I missed you girl - were you reading my mind. When your video popped up out of the blue! You're right too much procrastination Thanks this has given me food for thought and kick started my desire and need to book a flight and start my research again. What are your thoughts on single people buying a house or building a house? As I have gathered it can be stressful and challenging?

I’ll do a video on building as it’s complicated and definitely hard work

Have you visited Taf city in Gunjur? I understand its larger than Banjul. I was introduced to land for sale in this area. Was debating it but it sounds when complete it would be a congested area once the project is completed.
@zandelasjourney3 ай бұрын
Hi no I’ve never visited as the estate purchases are not really my thing but I’ll maybe go and film it for others. The estates are all lease hold so you don’t own it it’s all 75yr to 90yr lease holds plus I find the plots small. If your thinking land near the estate then you can’t go wrong as no where is really congested and the estate of this size will bring good shops, good electricity supply, good businesses, schools etc many who live around Gunjur ends have to travel 40min into senegambia for schooling, restaurants and weekly shopping.

Sis just so glad to have you back and please keep this channel focused on the dos and don'ts when moving abroad and don't let people use this channel to discuss the recent sad events that have happened then it will be a channel of gossip and hearsay let others go elsewhere to get their info or misinformation and deal with only facts and information in a positive way... As your channel has always been that way just don't want you to get in the mix of it... So I am. Glad to hear all the valuable information you will continue to share blessings.... NO GOSSIP NO HEARSAY PLEASE...

Hello Zandela is it ok to buy land in Gambia while still in the uk and get some one out there to witness documents
@stopsweepingitunderthecarpet3 ай бұрын
Hi Zandela just out of interest it is recommended to use an architect when deciding to build your house. Does the architect only design or are they builders as well. So one could kill to birds with one stone? Would you recommend your architect or do they have a website? Thanks
@zandelasjourney3 ай бұрын
Typically the architect will have to advice the builders and most actually go on site and lay the foundation plan on the ground so that the builder knows exactly where the pillars and walls should be. My husband is an architect and project manager although he does less architectural work these days but more projects management.

These Black youtubers talk about come and visit. Well it takes [MONEY] a round trip ticket from America: $3000. Accommodation for 2-weeks: $1400. Food: $15 per day, $210. And that's for one person. For two people, on the conservative side, a Total of $8,000. Black folk who have $8,000 to spend will spend that money in America. They have nice homes and drive fancy cars and they are not thinking about spending it on Africa. Black Folk from America ain't thinking about coming to Africa. Get over it.
@ShayTBD3 ай бұрын
Its much less than a trip to paris, greece or italy - interesting how SOME people always find a way to naysay... Off season midweek flights to Ghana are often less than 1200 round trip and the hop to Gmb is often less than 300... Stop spreading financial fear - a single plate in France is 25 or more and lets not talk about lodging cost in europe... Vloggers are not online to do your research work... If you want to know prices about your potential trip, do YOUR due diligence for YOUR travel.... Im 44, retired at 39 and building my retirement home a mile from a west african beach... I have over 500 black american peers that have already and many more moving to various african nations... Summer trip will be the atlantic dunes of Namibia and diamond beaches of Angola... You nor I speak for any1 but self and PLENTY are moving and plenty arent...
@zandelasjourney3 ай бұрын
Haha this is exactly why I said you need to save the money but your statement that black folk from America ain’t thinking about coming to Africa is not true at all. More than 900 Americans in 2021 extended their residency in Gambia 3000 Americans in Ghana not to mention the other countries in Africa. More & more are coming, I see new faces every month. The reason I said to visit is because majority of the AAs who live here never visited before they made the big move and the culture shock for them was extremely hard. Visiting a country that you plan to live too is essential to make the right choices.

Well said.. yesssssssss retired at 39 living your blessed life at 44 LOVE YOU and your hustle.. Plenty are definitely moving I see it everyday and this just confirms my first pieces of advice “do not share the idea, plans, journey with family and friends that will never move or visit” imagine if this person had a family member thinking of making a trip. How quickly would one uninformed conversation change their mind. Some black people are still very much asleep.
@urserious44193 ай бұрын
@@zandelasjourney No matter how much you guys try to promote "Africa", we ain't coming. America is our homeland, Not africa. You said 900 americans, 3000 americans. I'm speaking only in terms of Black folk. BTW, Those numbers are pale in comparison to 48 million. My friend, you need to stop listening to those "Back To Africa" KZbin channels that might get 1.2k views who talk about how wonderful living in Africa can be and how bad America is getting and come back to reality.....lmao. We Ain't coming.
