My most favourite videos is when you are shopping, prepping and cooking with your mom. I lost my my mom 15 years ago, I was 31, 4 weeks away from giving birth to my daughter. Having her saved me somewhat. It feels so wholesome when you two are prepping for big family gatherings together. I really miss those days. Cherish and enjoy every minute of it. God bless.

💔 I lost my mom in 2003 and I still feel lost many many times. I love watching Becky and her Mon Cherished moments to be sure. I lost my Dad when I was just 26 - too young to lose a parent. I wanna adopt Becky’s Dad. I just love him 😊. He’s so laid back and doesn’t complain about running to the store if these two ladies find they need something they haven’t got ♥️♥️

@@katehopkinsbrent5573 My dad was like that, too. I remember one special dinner when we had to send him to the store twice because we were short and it was a 15 minute drive to the store! Never a complaint. I think he was always so appreciative of our planning and preparing the food that he viewed it as his contribution. (My ex, OTOH, always acted like he'd been asked to donate a kidney without anesthesia so I had to triple check everything the night ahead! Dad also liked his job of getting the dinner table set up - getting out the leaves and getting them in. He'd put the tablecloth on and start setting the table, but Mom and I would help with it because we just enjoyed doing it together as a family. He loved big dinners where we used the china and crystal and silver so I think he secretly felt like he could ensure we'd use all the fancy things! He looked so stricken the year my mother suggested we just eat in the breakfast room with regular dishes for some holiday dinner that we immediately scrapped that and it was never mentioned again. ❤ He's been gone for 19 years as of this past Wednesday, the 17th.

Hahahaha- Susan, I had a similar experience with a Hispanic grandmother when she found standing like a deer in front of the dried peppers in the bulk food section at my local grocery. I was making Pozole, and she took me all around the store to get the correct cuts of meat (yes, she uses more than 1) and she made sure I had all that of her instructions safely in my notes on my phone so I wouldn’t lose them or forget them. Its been 5 or 6 years now, and I still use her recipe.

It all went very well, but I can't imagine doing all the food you girls did! You all are amazing! I absolutely love when you all are together. I'm so sorry for the loss of your Mom and Grandmother. I love your videos with your Mom, they are so sweet. I lost my Mom 24 years ago, and l think about her every day!! Her and Dad raised 9 children, so l think now how she prepared all those meals for us, washed all of our clothes, did the shopping, helped with homework, got us ready for bed, cleaned the kitchen, etc. Back in the 60's, before all the modern conveniences of double ovens, microwaves, crock pots, air fryers, dishwashers, things we take for granted, l admire her strength and efforts she put in to running and maintaining her household and sanity. Your mother is sweet and so are you Becky. I love your shows!

Hi there! Long time viewer, but this is my first time commenting. I just wanted to say that it almost brings me to tears that you all go so out of your way to make sure your families needs, wants, and even allergies are accounted for when you make food for them. I came from a family who wouldn’t really do that sort of thing, and I’m so touched by your family’s care for each other. No family is perfect, but I love how much you care for each other ❤

As someone who has experience with both duck eggs and regular eggs. Half is way way to much to reduce. While they are bigger then chicken eggs they usually aren't nearly double the size of a chicken egg. A better way to figure out how many eggs you need is to remember a regular egg is usually about 1/4 cup. So if you need 4 eggs you need about 1 cup of egg. Then you can just Crack them into a liquid measuring cup until you get the amount you need!

A little tip is bringing battery operated little fans for tables, they’re specifically designed so it keeps flies away from either your buffet serving area or at the seating tables ❤ and another tip for biscuit dough is to freeze your metal bowl too and the fork or pastry cutter before mixing, helps to keep everything extra cold 😊

I like how y’all are so kind, patient and communicative with each other. I find family usually has short cut communication and assumptions which leads to miscommunication😂. This was an awesome team work prep video.

Lord love us and save us! Becky, you and your mum should be in charge of teaching organizational skills to branches of the military. That whole campsite setup is simply genius. The fact that you could feed 25ish people for 5 days so cool, calm and collectedly is worthy of a familial medal! I am quite serious that the two of you should write a text/ cookbook that would provide instructions as to how to do this very thing for various group sizes and events. SERIOUSLY! It would sell like mad. The grocery lists, the recipes suitable for printing to tape to cupboard doors, the order in which things should be cooked … well everything you SHOW us but in text form with pictures and such. You would make a mint!!! Just sayin’.

Dredging note to your mom ... put the flour dredging mixture into one of the 2 and a 1/2 gallon bags... put the meat cubes in... leave some air and shake it up .... then use a slotted spoon or whatever to lift the meat out and then you won't have a mess everywhere... I'm a messy cook, so I always dredge the meat in a baggie with flour...shake it up to coat .. then I can just throw the whole mess away later...or use for gravy❤

@@christineconley7903 if I have a bowl ..and flour or powdered sugar it's gonna be a BIG mess in no time..I once caught the mixer cord around the bottom of a big stainless bowl with 6 cups of flour and it landed bottom-side down on my floor ..flour BOMB in my kitchen... everywhere...and of course my 3 labs HAD to "investigate", so I had 3 black dogs and 12 paws slip-sliding through the mess...

"Greedy me" once bought a 48 OUNCE glass jar of apple jelly at Costco..... until I found space in the fridge, I put the unopened jar on top of the fridge ...can you guess what happened next?.. A few weeks later , after three teenaged sons had used the fridge a while, I had an "incoming" incident..shards of jelly-coated GLASS all over my kitchen, dining room and family room ..luckily the dogs were outside, the cats were totally uninterested in the drama , and I had one small cut on my ankle from the jelly bomb..I had a "smoochy" floor for a long time..

We used to have huge smelt runs here in the Cowlitz River, it was a lot of fun dipping them. You could always tell when the smelt were running because all the seagulls would be flying everywhere

You and your mother prepared the food just like I do. I’m not cooking from scratch on vacation!!😅 The totes with all supplies, the same. The only difference I saw was the covers for the ice chest. I chose to go to Goodwill after hunting season and found wonderful sleeping bags that worked after unzipping fantastic!!! We always went camping over into Eastern Oregon with the boat and knew it would be very hot. I found the sleeping bags held cold in so well a lot was still frozen on days 5-6. I also (at Goodwill) found plastic items to freeze orange juice and 1/2 gallon jugs to freeze water that was first used as ice then water when melted. That cut down on the ice bill. Also if anyone knows someone that works in surgery (operating rooms) the empty sterile liquid bottles work wonderfully for freezing any type of liquids. I could contribute more ideas so if you or others would like them please ask and I will share. It is so nice to enjoy the camping vacations. 😊 We also did this on hunting trips. 😀🙏🏼

My whole family used to go to the lake every year for two weeks. Grandma, Grandpa, 4 sisters & husbands, 13 grands and various relatives, for about 20 years. When Grandpa passed my dad continued for our family and since my Dad has passed we don't go anymore. Your video was so bittersweet. Thank you for taking me back to my beautiful memories.

I'm at the part where you are starting biscuits and trying to figure the milk needed. I always triple the recipe for my large family, and knew the exact portion and I'm yelling at the screen "no!" to the 5 cups your mom figured 😆. Glad you all got it sorted out.

I think this is now my all time favourite series of videos. Have loved watching the prep and it all coming together and the beautiful views of the campsite. I lost my mum during covid so could not have family or friends around. As her service was limited to 10 people family and friends were asked to contribute their memories and we read them out at her service. So many of the memories revolved around meals and food. Many people wrote about her roasts and Christmas trifle, her apple pie and lemon meringue pie. When my siblings and I left home and started our own families we made it a bit of a tradition to come home to mum and dads every Sunday for family meals. This video reminded me of how special that time was and how thankful for all the wonderful meals we shared. The laughing around the table, all our kids playing in the pool, the games of trivial pursuit after a wonderful meal. Thank you so much to you and your mum and josh and your dad and your extended family for reminding me that this is the real meaning of life. These wonderful memories and the meals we share are what will stay with us forever ♥️ You all do a wonderful job with what you share here and they are so much more to me than just a KZbin video. Thank you all.

What a lovely family memory! You gave the whole family a wonderful memorial for your mother/grandmother in such a beautiful location. At the same time, you were cementing family bonds and training the youngsters at the same time. I remember my mom organizing family camping trips and food for a crowd. Those lessons stuck with me as I have done similar events. The cousins camp was a wonderful idea to provide activities for the littles. Thank you Becky, for sharing video of the campout setup and meals. We appreciate your dedication to your "friends". Susan, please ignore any nasty comments you may see. There are jealous people everywhere. You are doing a wonderful job. The folks who are negative need to move on and let the rest of us enjoy the show.
