Hello. I wonder if you have tried adding other substances for a stickier consistency? I have made a Tokonole alternative cream with both CMC and Guar Gum, but when I apply it on the back of the leather, it is not as sticky as Tokonole, splits occur at the points where I fold the leather. I am thinking of adding beeswax, so I am doing research.

Hi, thanks for your question. It does not have a specific expiration date, but it can lose its effectiveness over time. Signs that CMC powder for leathercraft burnishing purposes may have expired or gone bad include hardening of the powder and change in color or texture (yellowish). The solution made from expired CMC powder may an unsatisfactory burnishing result. Hope this helps :)

HI Naz, tylose powder works in the same way, like CMC and is as effectively. If you want to use it for fondant, I suggested you get CMC from cake supply shops.

@@naaz.ibrahim7784 cmc is Cellulose gum. CMC stands for Carboxymethyl Cellulose. Tylose is similar but is not the same thing.
