You see all these guys who spend their lives in the gym all pumped up walking around with 18" biceps who think they're really strong and then you see a 14 old girl essentially doing squats over and over again en pointe, that is what you call strength.

I can't believe that people think that ballet is easy it is so demanding and takes so much work and effort it takes hours and you don't really have much time for anything else • I am a ballet dancer in the highest level at my studio and I have to dance everyday jot including extra rehearsals • and some people are like "oh I want to do ballet because it is pretty and I think I'm going to wear pointe shoes when I first start that is such a lie

I am 12 and I really want to be a professional ballerina but I only did ballet for 3 years , when I was 3,4 and 5 years old, but I'm a competitive jazz, tap, lyrical, contemporary and hip hop dancer so I would love to either start ballet again or become a professional dancer in general. This show is amazing! Me and my friends watch this while stretching at dance

I think ballet gives you a lot of opportunity to travel. Hearing the kids talking about leaving their friends is very reminiscent of my senior year in high school. The difference for these kids is that they have the chance to get a job abroad, as there are many ballet companies all over the world, especially in Europe! These kids are very lucky. :)

I think you should try it out!! I quit ballet when I was 10 and lost all of my skill, but at age 12 I started again and now I am 13 and have the hang of it

World Traveler just try it :) Most ballett schools let you take one or two classes to kind of try it out and you've probably built a lot of strength and flexibility already while doing gymnastics. If you really want to do it, go for it

funny girls it depends on technique, age, and strength. It can take 2+ years. It only took me 2 years, but it took lots of hard work.

Abbie nowak I'm start a ballet when I was 11.5-12 years old. And now i can't without it. Here's some tip😇👌🏻: if you dream about dancing, if you want dancing -there no one that will stop you! Take misti (if you know or don't know her- she is a ballerina that start when she was 13 years old) ...she's an amazing dancer, she's a model to express !! This is never to late to start do a ballet, never to old for this!❤️

I'm 13 and I've been doing ballet since I was 2 and I've been en pointe for 5 years. I recently broke my ankle from syciling my foot during a pirouette. The doctor says I'm going to have to take a year off dance, and doing that I may have to start from scratch. Dancing is the most amazing thing in my life and a want to get back to it as soon as possible. Does anyone know anyway to get back fast after an injury?

You can try doing the RICE method for about a month, or just try resting it. Then once you can finally stand on your ankle, try doing ankle exercises(but be very cautious when doing so) to get ur ankle used to different movements.

Balanchine technique says to overcross your arms and pull them closer like that. I think Balanchine is the only technique that does that all the time, but some schools may ask you to cross them for pas. It just depends on the technique, obviously everyone in these videos are doing it like that and they're on the professional level so you shouldn't call them out for it, especially when it's actually correct.
