I also think they just lied about it, they kept delaying the release date, and i don’t see a point how it can take them so long since Clockworks done literally the same work for so much less time. Maybe they also used fake footage or also valkyrien skies footage to do some hype. There is literally the same situation with hytale where they delayed it for so much years and in the end said: “Yeah, we need to rework whole engine, means also whole game”

Landlord (the physics engine behind the Create: Simulated projects) was designed specifically for Create and looks to be far more performant than VS based on the footage they’ve shown. It’s also being used in Doctor4t’s space mod. Idk about you but that submarine preview is way more exciting than even what VS can do (not to downplay VS and its addons and all the work that went into them)

1:35 iirc air density (and thus propeller thrust, balloon lift, and air drag) are lower the higher you go. So a ballon will never rise infinitely, instead it balances at a certain altitude appropriate to its size and (probably) the burner's settings

Idk if Aeronautics is even a real thing anymore. Like, sure the devs showed lots of progress last year and some this year in video form and stuff in their Discord, so it does exist at least partially, but then near the end of 2023 they basically told us it needed more time to be properly complete and said they'd delay it until 2024. Well, we got a few more updates in 2024, but it's been dead silent since mid April and it's now approaching the end of August. I really want the mod to exist but with literally zero updates on it for months it's a bit disheartening

The appropriate response is "I already have a superior mod that achieves the same functionality, it's called Create Clockwork." Aeronautics is never going to release. End of story.

The biggest issue would be, the more time it takes to release, the less players will actually use it; the game releases more and more versions, much faster now than what it was back in 1.12.2, modpack makers work mostly now from 1.20.1 onwards, a few on 1.19.2 and less on 1.18.2. Even on a server I play with some friends, a few of them decided to move into 1.21, they wanted to play Aeronautics, but in their own worlds "meh, it will release by 1.24 most likely, on 1.19 or 1.20".

(Also clockwork kind of sucks in it's current state, they released it in an unfinished state full of bugs which is the very reason aeronautics hasn't released yet.)

If you want to see out your dreams, try downloading Valkyrien Skies’ addons. Recently there’s been a lot of upgrades to Trackwork which allows for compact and all terrain cars. VS Tournament is really good for stable flight with their bad piggies style rockets. There is still ofc Clockwork, but tbh, that one needs more work, and is just overall better when used alongside everything else. They are all open-sourced and actively being developed on, so for the time being, it may be better than waiting for an unannounced Aeronautics release…

Create aeronautics might as well be considered abandoned at this point. There's been literally no status updates for months. Not even something more passive like a trello board or a "Hey we had good progress on X part of the mod this month. Apart from one of the devs getting sick." I understand they don't want a bunch of hype, but this is way beyond that point. The dev team might as well just be procrastinating at this point as far as I know.

Modded Enemy: Flying squid. It latches onto hulls, and baby squid crawl up the sides slowly. You will see them trail with smoke particles, they spawn in rain and thunderstorms. Over extended time attached to hulls, it could break the block, and maybe break in. Just an idea I've had. It would make air travel not always safe, which keeps it entertaining! Maybe there could be another mob for cold and hot environments, like a pillager vehicle? Idk. I think it would be really cool. An add on, for an add on, for a mod. 😂

When Aeronautics will release, Clockwork probably will fix most of the bugs at this point. So players just would stay on Clockwork, so their creations wouldn't totally break. When you go radio-silent, you lose momentum and hype. But your competitor is gaining hype and playerbase. So, this is cringe PR-solution.

I'm really hopeful that Aeronautics will limit the changes to contraption mechanics to only the vehicles players build. My big issue with the other mods you listed is that they interfere with normal Create contraptions, which make some features unusable (e.g. portable storage interfaces not interacting with contraption storages)

There's so much more to it. Aeronautics is part of a larger project called Create Simulated, which is going to add ships, including functioning submarines, land vehicles, and even spaceships.

Clockwork was designed as an integration between Valkyrien Skies and Create. It won't work with Aeronautics, nor will it be necessary, as Create Aeronautics was designed as an addon for Create to begin with.
