(I posted some schitzo posts talking about various changes to the lore and other things on episodes 3 and 4, along with responding to you on the channel trailer/series 2 announcement video. You might want to check and see if notifications for replies are disabled) Something that’s really interesting about the Ark is in Halo 2’s original ending it was located on earth, in East Africa where modern humans first originated some 100,000 years ago. This just so happens to be when Forerunners disappeared from the galactic scene after firing the Array and starting the reseeding process. The Forerunner designation for human is Reclaimer, and to reclaim is to obtain something that was once yours. Sure do wonder what kind of a crazy revelation was planned. I really should get around to reading/listening to the Forerunner trilogy. Even though it sadly messed up a lot of the lore and invalidates the Covenant’s whole motivation for waging their war of extermination it’s a really cool high sci-fi story. There’s a lot of things/concepts from it I really like, and from what I’ve heard it’s phenomenally well written (aside from a few hiccups here and there). Something that’s interesting about the Prometheans is Bungie had this truly bizarre idea for the marine player character in the cancelled Halo Chronicles game (so happy that never got made. Watch Hiddenxperia’s video talking about that fever dream) you’d get infected with some alien dna and mutate gaining all these weird powers (some of them were basically 5’s Spartan abilities. 5’s changes to gameplay would’ve been fine if it was a spinoff, but not as a mainline entry. It’s story would’ve also been a thousand times better if they went with the original Bungie version of Rampancy that was borrowed from Marathon), and eventually you’d “become the bullet” by turning into this biological missile that was crashing into Covenant ships in low orbit. I’m not a fan of a lot of the things 343 has done, but I think we can all agree that their version of the Prometheans is so much better than what Bungie would’ve given us. That game sounds really fun and would’ve been fine if it was COMPLETELY divorced from Halo aside from shared lore/concepts, like what Halo was to Marathon. Neil Blondecamp (not sure how to spell his name) was involved with this, and turning into an alien would later be reused in District 9, and a lot of the guns are repainted props for a cancelled Halo movie.

I do have notifications turned on. Admittedly there is a lot to unpack in some of those comments and haven't gotten the time for a proper response. I do apologize. I am not ignoring you. I am aware of Bungie's original plan for the Forerunners. It definitely would have been interesting to see where they went if they had continued with the series. The Lore has been altered quite a bit from those days. One of the coolest things that you can still find on the internet is a sketch of The Arbiter opening a casket in the center of Earth's version of The Ark and finding Human bones. That was supposed to be the big confirmation that humans were Forerunners at the end of Halo 2, but due to that game's crunch, we never got to see it. The retcons ruined that vision of The Forerunners, but I think Greg Bear did a great job cleaning things up and making it interesting. If you have the time to invest, it's definitely worth a listen. There are also some other tie ins to that story. "Halo Rebirth", which you can find here on KZbin is a short story about some of the events after the Halo array was fired. It is actually narrated by Greg Bear himself I believe. Also in The Halo Short story book "Fractures", there is a short story about Bornstellar and the remaining Forerunners called "Promises to Keep". That is the story about The Forerunners restoring The Domain after the Activation of The Array. As for the Halo Chronicles series, anytime Hollywood gets there hands on Halo, it almost always ends in disaster with some very few exceptions. Fun fact, The Halo Chronicle series is one the reason Joseph Staten (Halo's lead Story Writer for 1 and 2) hasn't at Bungie when the Halo 3's story was written. I would imagine that was one of reason's Halo 2 's original ending was not incorporated more into Halo 3's story. I am glad you are enjoying the series and I will keep new videos coming.
