Preparing for the WQ3 Saga?

So, it's come to my attention that the Wolf Quest 3 Saga is coming later this year. I thought, what better way than to have a new litter for the next year of pups?

I did the same thing! Lol I just have a save called “READY FOR THE SAGA” where my pups are all 20 pounds so that I can play the saga as soon as it comes out 😭😭 My only tip for you would be that in challenging elk can be a lot more dangerous, so try to dodge their kicks more carefully! XD back there that elk mother was beating you up as you bit her calf 😭

@@Flamingo123e​​⁠Just make sure not to have too little pups! The devs said that many of your pups will disperse (which you can’t do anything about), so you wouldn’t want to be left with no pups! :D

Man, maybe I should start a "READY FOR THE SAGA" wolf pack too 😂 After Im done playing as my wolves current pups though. I like my wolves pups to at least be 3 or 4 years. Ill probably choose either Daisy or Luna to be my saga heir, Daisy is kinda my Queen bee of a wolf she's very confident, bold, and loves pups(afterall she was the one who mostly babysat her other siblings) and she likes everything to be big and grand. Luna on the other hand was the only pup who survived in her litter, and shes more cautious ans prefers to take her time. She also thinks that smaller is the better, but she is also pretty protective and quick on territory and she really loves pups. There are also some other wolves that are a possible option such as Dawn, who is just a very sweet and playful wolf who believes in faith. And then there is Peril who is a pretty bold and curious wolf who never means to cause trouble but trouble always finds him anyway lol. But for now Im gonna keep it simple and leave it between Daisy or Luna.

And speaking of mates and personalities, I prefer mates who have an opposite personality of my wolf. For example, if my wolf is more energetic, aloof, and cautious I prefer a mate who is maybe a little lazy or a mix of both, social, and bold. But I think in general I prefer mates who are a little cautious or in-between, social mates, and energetic mates.

@@reneedittmer9625 ooo I love the backstory to the wolves too lol. My first wolves I tried to make them brothers. Lobster was the shy, careful, weaker one, while Shark was the strong, bold, courageous one. Might see where that goes later. ❤️

@@OMGITSPANDA that's nice! And thanks :> I'm currently playing as two of Clara's pups, Aiden and Gray. Clara had 4 pups so I thought it would be nice to play as them all together. I'm deciding to wait until their pups are 10 pounds until I play as another one of the siblings, next up is Kendra and the last one is Ash. Gray and Ash are also both runts, too. Although funnily enough Gray had a pretty big litter compared to Aiden, which is kinda ironic to me since Gray has a KK black gene(his father had KK genetics)

I also did the same! The pups in that save aren’t at 20 pounds yet but they are close, and the wolf I’m using is also named cinnamon Edit: finished with all pups remaining, and two had npc coats

Just a heads up for anyone unaware, it's unlikely that the saga update will be applicable to current save files. While we'll certainly be able to start new games with our current pups and explore the saga when they "disperse," I doubt any saves created before the update will allow us to explore the saga.

also switch to head cam (T) to find the eagle when having its attack that way u can track it and know when its going to land and ambush your pups so u could do that and stop the ambush

Yesss I'm also doing the same thing, although I've had some people tell me that we have to create new wolves for the saga to work. It doesn't make sense to me, considering we've worked so hard on our favorite litters and are saving them for the saga. Anyway, not sure if that's true so i'm doing it anyways :P. Also these names are absolutely amazing

Nice video! :D I'm loving WolfQuest 3 so far, and I'm always looking forward to new updates and such. I loved when the Dispersal wolves kept howling, though it looked like it made it more difficult for your wolf to interact with them. I'll stick around for a part 2! *clicks on video Oh gosh Rain is beautiful. Which coat did you use? (Edit: Ah, IWC Boltz) I've got an old save from back before Persistent Packs, which has left my rival packs with some very interesting politics, especially between Lamar Canyon and Rescue Creek up in the northwest reaches. Rescue's homesite is inside of Lamar territory. I've enjoyed watching the drama develop whenever I check my own territory situation. I've made it my personal goal to get them to 20 lbs before Saga releases. Although some CRAZY sessions with lost pups and predator raids (simultaneously!) left me a bit anxious. Even though I'm half-decent at the game. My Yukiko is a middle-to-cautious, high loner, and pretty decently energetic mate. She's wonderful - I was able to spend the ENTIRE safe time before the game starts giving you predators just loafing with the pups. She'd go do the territory, hunt, bring home food, feed the pups.... _I have to actually call her home when its bedtime._ Literally she walked out of the den after they emerged, regurgitated for them, and _split._ Her cautious trait makes her a godsend when at the den too, as she's quick to corral them and keep them from getting lost or wandering towards a lurking predator that I haven't noticed yet. Just a shame that she's _never around._ She'll leave within minutes after waking up if I don't first. (Though if I do she'll usually follow me.) - Ironically I think the crazy moments I've had with predators and lost pups are because I spent _too much_ time around the den, and the game doesn't want me to get bored or complacent.

I'm used to larger YTers who don't reply to "every" comment they get, so I appreciate the reply in the first place. :) Also pro-tip, when dealing with pack animals (coyotes, wolves) target the one with the highest flight preferentially. When you shake his nerve the whole pack will leave. Sad to admit that I've left my Lost River mate Sirris in the cold more than once when dealing with rival wolves. She makes a great distraction for two of them while I chew on the frighty third one until they run off. Although if I didn't have mate-death disabled she'd have died many times over by now, both to this and to her insanity-level boldness. I'm debating whether I want to actually make a pups run with her. I picked her in LR Classic on impulse. She's very social, refusing to sleep not touching me and emoting frequently, bold to a fault, she'll pick a fight with a BISON and I have to drag her away to avoid us getting killed, and a bit lazy. If we stop running around she'll spend quite a while loafing before deciding to do something, while Yukiko will get bored within a minute or two - and usually walk away for some alone time. (Yukiko also frequently does not return my emotes. It's a tiny special moment when she does.) I do know that playing with Sirris will be a VERY different experience to Yukiko as a result of the nearly-complete-opposite personality. I just also know that her being lazy (and both of us being bold) will create ...... _problems._

Do yk if I can save the game right when the pups hit 20 lbs, but go back and grow them up and start a new game with them? Will that affect anything with the saga if I go back to the saved game with the pups still pups, but technically the pups are all grown cause I started a new game with them? If that makes sense lol

This was my first time playing challenging on WQ single player lol. Any tips?

I play on accurate usually, but here are some tips! -Chase the elk for a while it might get a little boring, but the elk will become slower and more prone to tripping and falling as it looses stamina. This allows you to conserve your own stamina. This is more important on slower wolves. -Get the elk to run during standoff, especially when its a calf Less chance of getting mauled by an angry mother -When biting, let go if the damage done isn't in your favor Its worth it in the long run, even if you have to let go for a bit -Bold mates are so important for higher difficulties I know you know this its just so important -chase elk to the den and kill them there its honestly just convenient. bold mates will sometimes kill the elk before you can get it there though- but that inconvinience is worth the struggle of a cautious mate -make your wolf cautious this will balance out a bold mate's boldness when you have pups to make them easier to handle. A few generations will get rid of the caution though. -go into photo mode during predator attacks to locate the danger self explanatory why this is so important -get good affinity your mate wont go out to mark when you have low affinity. The reason this is in a tip is because I *always* neglected affinity despite knowing it was important (but not knowing how important). -sit with sick pups for 30-40 minutes (real time) and then sleep one of the BEST ways to heal pups. remember: sick pups will die now (also pups wont get healed if you're at 0 wakefulness Personal things I find useful, but are more of a style of playing than a general tip -target adults, not calves. I always get pummeled by the moms (which are usually full health) so I target the low health cows. -Health and strength over stamina and speed "tanks" do really well for me. I used to neglect health to get a higher speed stat. Speed technically is the least useful.. but fast wolves are really fun.

You're definitely going to want to learn how to dodge kicks, and keep in mind; every once in a while, there'll be a long release animation where your wolf will stall a little, allowing you to be kicked by the mother. Keep your health in mind. I suggest either +1 strength, -1 stamina, +1 speed, and -1 health, or 0 strength, -2 stamina, +1 speed, and +1 health for stats. Also, try to rely more on intimidation unless you're certain you can win an encounter. Try to split prey up more to avoid being kicked by a passing elk. Always look for the weakest of any prey, typically it'll be the first to run, but not always. It's useful to take a bite out of a couple of elk if you didn't get a weak one immediately. Wolves have really high stamina; use this to tire out your prey, they'll do less damage, leaving you to do more, as your stamina will regenerate quicker.
