As someone who used to work at a place that rented, sold, and serviced chainsaws, they can be tricky to start. Had plenty of times when a guy would come in saying "it wont start!" I take it out back and have it going in three pulls. Once someone had flooded the saw so badly with gas/petrol, that the engine was hydrolocked, and after pulling the spark plug, it shot a stream of fuel across the shop! I use a battery operated chainsaw around my house. Its quiet so I don't need ear protection, and I don't need anything bigger.

That was great! Looks quite the idyllic lifestyle; satisfying and meaningful. I liked the gardening, apple pie, firewood chopping and of course the team work! (and the cats)

I loves a bit of login, can’t beat the satisfaction of a big stack of logs ready for next winter. Super video really like the look of your lattice pie thing, would’ve been nice to see the end result. You two look so well matched, Max is a lucky man ❤

Yo Katie, your cats are living the dream! I have an electric (battery) chainsaw. Much easier to start. I like splitting wood with the axe but also have an electric splitter as a back up. Such a nice life, planting bulbs and feeding birds etc!
@KeiteiVentures4 күн бұрын
Great to hear from you Mookie, yes there is something very satisfying about preparing your own wood 🪵🪓 An electric splitter is great 😃 I've planted a lot of bulbs this winter ❄️ 😁 🌺🌸🌼🧄🤞

We always smile at each other when you 2 appear. Good to see real stuff being sorted. I retired the wheel of death 3 phase saw monster when I hit 74( slightly heavier than the Forth Bridge) and bought an electric chainsaw . Wouldnt use it next month when knees permitting I ll be coppicing one of our parclels, but its excellent for cutting up logs and good to have 2 options, charges from the solar. . Made a horse with 3 sets of y legs and the log sits there without need to hold it, and cutting between each st of legs produces 3 perfect size logs. Theres much more , but will let you off with that. All the best to you both Keith and Helen.

Another warm, cuddly episode 😊. Was teaching my 57y.o sister how to use a chainsaw at the weekend, and although she is, like you are, a very competent person, it was a bit nerve-wracking. I tell you what though; as an initial resistor, I can now appreciate how much easier cordless electric saws are, for beginners particularly. Excellent

We cleaned our solar panels after years of neglect (!) and must have got about 20% more power. We live in the West Country like you and the lichen grows all over them and shades them out. Looks like you have a great setup there - best wishes to you both from deepest Dorset :)

love the video format has a feel of a french film maker about it. you have a keen eye for it. We get to see the farm from a diffent angle to. Nice to to lean some new skills chain sawing is a nice one and spliting the wood real for the next winter to come. Wood warms you three time cutting it down. splittting it and the fire at the end . A chat called Steve U used to teach me about tree surgery and processing wood.😀

My farming uncle taught me to use a chainsaw, his advice " stay away from the sharp spinney bit, rev the bollox out of it" still works to this day the snow made Kermit work hard I'd guess
