you will be pleased with all that clean up and the wool gone come lambing time - much easier to set up when you don't have to do a major yearly clean up first

I love watching a good mucking out. You do a pretty slick job with that skid steer. Kudos to your camera person. Too bad the wool does not bring in more, but that is €214 you did not have, plus the space it was occupying. I learn something from your videos every day. Cheers 😊👍❤️

@@dw1920 I saw what Sandi is creating from her wool and think it's great. My mother in-law is great at knitting and knits some beautiful clothes for the children. Problem is we don't have any processing facility for wool in Ireland and it is all exported. Might look into a little home processing 😁

Laughed at the tipping camera. I've cleaned several small manure packs by hand, then rigged a horse powered rake on pulley. Sweat is an incentive to experiment. Need a draft horse team, soft ground not that much impact. Horses and sheep, to me seems a good fit. The wool compacted was interesting, glad it found uses. Always learning, that's farming, enjoy the journey.

Thank you so much 😊 I like that idea "sweat is an incentive to experiment" because I always try to do things the easy way. Enough hard work with sheep without looking for it 👌

Wow what a hit for the wool. That’s a fair bit of money it’s cost. It needs done but a hefty price to pay!

Wool has to worth more as fertiliser as it has a serious notogen content. Mixed in fym and covevered in pit silage plastic it is worth having.

Why is the price of wool so low? I'm a person who sews with wool cloth when I can find it, and wool cloth is always so expensive. It doesn't make sense that you get paid so little for the raw product when the final product ends up costing so much.

I guess the cost of processing has a big bearing on the value. High energy costs for heating the water to wash being the main issue. And also an abundance of cheaper synthetic fibre from the oil industry doesn't help...

Often wondered what are the wool merchants making on wool if he tracked you down watching KZbin to take your wool a lot more than 15c a kilo.

Nice getting a tidy up! When will you bring the ewes back in? I take it you don’t feed them bales in the field if your ground is so wet?
@sheepschool365
@sheepschool365 10 ай бұрын
Never feed sheep out. My ground gets into a mess very quickly with no grass and it takes until summer to recover. I managed to keep all out until 8th March last spring but my batch of ewe lambs are on winter grazing already which will leave less for the ewes. Hopefully house early February.

@@sheepschool365 it’s nice not making a mess of the ground and gives the ground a good start for spring. I found it worked well for me housing them earlier than normal last year.
