Hi Jael, great update! I love your videos but your new home progress gets me soo excited i guess because it shows how one goes about starting a new homestead. Sending love and warm wishes to your daughter and wishing her a quick recovery. I wonder if the dry grass could be used to mulch the cassava to contain the weeds? Go girl!

Beautiful home and garden. Heavily mulch with wood chips or a black polyurethane plastic by rolling it on top of the grass & reinforce it so the wind doesn’t blow it off it kills off the weeds naturally

I truly enjoy your posts, Jael. They are peaceful and your home is beautiful. I like when you garden and cook your stews because I see the similarities of me being a part of the African diaspora and Motherland recipes. It is comforting to see them. Please keep it up and don’t listen to people saying your land wasn’t capable of producing. Obviously, that’s not the case. The bounty is quite clear. Good luck with your new plants!

You can cover the soil between your plants with cardboard or newspaper or even old carpet to starve out the weeds and grass. In the UK we sometimes use a " no dig" method. You might fi d it interesti g to search it on YT.
