Kurt, not for nothing but if you were having left arm and shoulder pain, take it from one who has been there, see your cardiologist or at least your family doc while first class is in the shop. It may be nothing or it could be a blockage of varying degrees. The right amount of heart trouble can take your CDL or even worse, your life.

Just had the same thing happen to me last October. Went in Sat night and back home Monday morning. One vessel had 90% blockage, Feel great now, felt great before I went home! This is nothing to put off! You're no good to your family lying in bed or taking a dirt nap Kurt.

When the rear diffs are apart, if you ever want to go to a lower ratio, NOW is the time. A lower number ratio is a faster ratio. The newer trucks do not have grease fittings on the s cams for the brakes. The fitting is there for the grease zerk, so it can be added.

Simple Green wrks AWESOME for oil/grease on clothes, equipment, streets, driveways, etc. It's biodegradable also

The new trucks still have to grease only difference is you can do most of it at the grease block on the drivers side under the hood. And I felt the same way about the new trucks thinking they don’t last but I will say if you eliminate some emissions they will last much longer if not then you at least need to do rods and mains before 500k miles since the oil runs around 230 degrees constantly. Thanks for sharing

What a nice circumstance, your 'motivator' lives in the same domicile as yourself. My nearest motivator is about 45 minutes away. Good but not handy. My other motivator is in the Richmond VA area. No help there. Perhaps Mr. Schmidt you would consider an exercise bicycle, which is what I use nearly every day while catching up on interesting programs on the idiot box (TV). Granted, your motivator is darn sight more attractive than my TV set but it's all I have. Thank you for the cleaning tour. Be well.

'older truck', yeah, but a very nice looking truck for sure ! I would like to own a W 900! I always look at them as we go by the Kenworth dealer in Roanoke Virginia. Simple green is good for cutting grease and it doesn't hurt the environment. Heck 409 is good also! You like to have it clean because your truck is a reflection of you. If I am taking something to have someone work on it I clean it up also. You're a good man Mr. Schmidt, best regards chuck

Pre spray with an industrial strength degreaser first while it dry and you will get a better result

My brother used to install auto lube systems on trucks and equipment. It greased everything except the U-joints. As a truck mechanic for more than 5 decades. I appreciate you taking the time to blast grease off the truck. I have found that only a true steam cleaner with detergent is the only way to do it. My hair and clothing will do the rest. Good luck with the repairs. Hopefully it's just bearings and seals.

I use my brother's pressure washer, I have to put all my weight into it, it will take the paint if you're too close. I only do what you did when I borrow it. Nice you can do it on your own street. Most places Code Enforcement would stop you. Nice that you clean after yourself afterwards, thats important Walking is good for ya 😍👍

The newest new trucks, electrics, don’t use grease at all, don’t need to when riding on a lowboy trailer going back to the shop, which is where they spend a good amount of time, told to me by a lowboy driver. He is staying busy with his diesel powered truck.

I'd say the pressure washer is due to go to the dump. Might of made washing the back end of the truck easier if you would of picked up a degreaser and sprayed it down using a hand pump sprayer. Kurt, you must really love your daughter to listen to taylor swift

First time comment. I enjoy your videos and your co-existence with Opie while on the road. Opie is a sweet dog but getting along in age. I really hate to think of him not being with you but that time is coming. I was watching you wash First Class and was thinking, why not just take it to a truck wash where you can get all the grease off it plus the fact that you were washing it in the street. I know you were concerned about the grease on the street so you washed it into the sewer drain. I laughed when I saw that. Some lib environmentalist will go haywire when they see this. Now if new trucks are throw aways at 600k splain to me how a company like Old Dominion and others run theirs million plus before they’re even touched outside routine maintenance. All in how you maintain it. I had a 97 model with 12.7 that had to be inframed at 600k because of blow by. I’d take the DD15 in the truck I own over that 12.7 any day. I had a 14 liter Detroit in a 05 Western Star that had a lot of issues. My current truck is a 5700XE Western Star with a DD15 and an automatic transmission. After nearly 40 years of shifting gears and then having the automatic I wouldn’t go back to shifting gears.
