IMO, this is overkill. My '21 GTX is in nothing but salt water all the time. Most important practice is to flush after every outing, mist the engine compartment, use the anti-corrosive spray, and wash the entire ski and trailer with Salt Away. Then use WD40 on the rims and lug nuts, and strap ratchets

What is “mist the engine compartment “?

Hi! I just got my Fish Pro Trophy and I would like to know more information about how to keep the battery charged using a floating charger, this considering that we have two batteries. Thanks.

Help and thank you for watching. I have not installed a trickle charger on my ski, haven’t had a need for it. I did let my ski sit unstarted from August 22 - May 23 and the battery wasn’t dead, which really surprised me. It sat through a cold winter and never had any type of charger on it. I might add a trickle charger later but for now I don’t see a reason to. Hope this helps, Jeff

Thanks Jeff for this tutorial video. Also, do you have a video on cleaning the SeaDoo after salt water use? Beside the normal wash, do you spray that anti corrosion solution on the engine every time after you use your Trophy on salt water?

Hello and thanks for watching. After each trip on salt water I will wash the ski to get all of the salt spray and grime off. At the end of a trip, maybe 3-4 days long, I will completely wash the ski using good soap and water. I’ll also dry it completely as I can before hitting the road. This has helped keep the salt build up off the outside and in small crevices on the body. What I haven’t done, but need to, is wash the engine compartment. I’ve noticed some corrosion starting around the output shaft and some of the housings around the back of the engine. Right now I h leave the seat and deck cover off because I’m installing a new transducer. Once that is done I’ll completely wash the engine bay, scrub off any visible corrosion, spray it with high temp paint then hit it with the corrosion preventative from BRP. Hopefully that will help it last a little longer. I’ll be relocating to Corpus very soon so it will see a lot more salt water action soon. Hope this helps, Jeff

Your second battery is running separate from the main one?

Great videos man! Still waiting on mine and enjoy watching you work on yours. Are you going to do a first oil change and plugs video?

I took it to Freedom Powersports in Dallas, Tx for the 10 hour service. I want to keep the services at the dealership until my warranty expires. Don’t want to give BRP any chance to back out of repairs.

Was that one you did at the rear under the exhaust the end of the loom that connects to the IBR? I watched a vid by Bill Davies who had his connection corrode due to that one being so low in the hull. From memory he needed to replace the entire wiring loom!@#$%^&

I’m not sure which connector it was, might have been the IBR position sensor. Hopefully I won’t have that issue, bet that harness isn’t cheap.

Did u install that second battery? Or someone also did it?

The Trophy comes from the factory with 2 batteries. You can run the audio system, chart plotter/fish finder, and live well for extended periods and still be able to start the ski. I’m not sure if other 2022 models are equipped that way.

How does water get in there?
@texaspwcfishing6676 Жыл бұрын
Hello and thanks for watching. The water can creep in between the deck plate and the body, it can seep in under the seat or just about any other area where there is a seam. Right now with it being so new I have had very little water inside after getting out of the water, maybe a tablespoon full after 4 hours on the water. As the ski gets older the seals will start to leak more and some items might get loose after time allowing water to seep in. For me this was just a precaution. Hope this helps Jeff
