I have oats as the major portion of my breakfast nearly every day. I just make mine savory instead of sweet. This morning it'll be salt, black pepper, and chive from my meager herb garden.

My late father in law also had them almost every day for his breakfast for as long as my wife can remember. He used to soak his overnight before cooking on the hob. I’ve too much of a sweet tooth to have savoury porridge

If you soak the oats in water or milk overnight - they take less time to cook in the morning- and old frugal Scotish tip! I enjoy mine with free blackberries - picked and frozen in the autumn by myself!

I tried the aldi cheap porridge it tasted awful. Their next brand up tastes so much better. I would probably add some of nido powdered milk and some honey, syrup or sugar might even add some cinnamon or turmeric 😊

I’ll keep that in mind & I’ll check the packaging incase the is something more/less in the cheap one. Thanks for the heads up
