Both railroad bridges over the Platte River where taken out BNSF and Missouri Pacific, we had a lot of damage here.

How far is the safety of high ground for the crane to in the event of flooding?
@ToTheTopCrane5 жыл бұрын

I actually have a 1967 40 ton Bay city crane on a Pierce carrier that is in mint condition. I bought it at a county road and bridge auction. They had just put new rubber all the way around and done a complete rebuild of it and had just pulled it out of the shop just in time for the auction. The road and bridge guy's were not happy that the county commissioners had decided to sell it! Lol...

So are spuds easier to take out or put back? I watched a yt video a year or so ago about soaking wipers in a rubber conditioner once or twice a year. Couple Comments: - Good vid Jimmy. I have to confess it never even occurred to me how those barges anchored. I guess I always assumed they threw out a cpl regular anchors like other boats. I’m left with the question - When you put the spuds in, how do they sink them into the mud? Do they just sink on their own weight or do they have to be mechanically driven in somehow? - Those windshield wipers would drive me crazy! Why do they choose the middle of the window as the stationary (stop) position. [Actually I’ve noticed that on a lot of the endurance race cars too] - Nice job laying those spuds down. It’s not as easy as it looks. The bottom always has a tendency to slide out and slam into the most expensive piece of equipment on site. Nice job! 👍 🤜🤛
