So get this: I passed you on my way back to Phoenix last Thursday after a quick trip to Carlsbad! My girlfriend and I were cruising down the highway just as the sun was getting ready to set and I was like, “man, that truck ahead of us looks JUST like the one I watch on KZbin every week! Low and behold, it was you! Truck looks great going down the road, man.

Craig read that M/T article again... they plumbed the oil separator to the valley cover, NOT vacuum. They just had a line from each valve cover and the valley cover all venting through the catch can breather. You have created a large vacuum leak the way you have it plumbed now. Ditch the breather and seal your catch can. Then you can use engine vacuum to draw the crank case pressure out.

I have the same issue when draining the oil. I make a trough out of aluminum foil and it helps alot.

Maybe you could make a AN fitting hose? tighten it into that drain hole and then have the hose run to the side of the Crossmember and have it with a cap/bolt. Just like a drain bolt undo let it drain out into the pan bolt back up. No mess. Just clamp hose part tight and make long anuff can drain without getting onto frame. Just an idea bro... Keep up awesome content!

If the thing wants more timing, crank more into it and you'll get better fuel mileage. I'd time it and make it happy before you left. Anything to improve combustion efficiency will help your MPG, unless you're concerned running regular grade fuel on the drive out there.

I use a portable lawn sprayer with 90 weight in it and a short section of hose after the valve pump up the pressure shove it into the transmission close the valve I use the manual valve that you have to hold but I also have an o-ring I can slip over it for when I'm filling a new gearbox works great

FYI, Everything I have previously researched on the Ford 9 3/8" rearends, says that they are weaker than the 9" because of the casting materials (cast iron) they were made from. Most performance-oriented people will tell you to toss them out and replace them with a 9", which will fit into the housing you have. They also are subject to a scarcity of rebuild parts and gear sets. Just sharing my research, what you do with it is up to you.

alternatively, you can put some course stainless steel wool (or a couple of those SS sink scrubbers) in the catch can to allow the oil vapor to coalesce and not blow out through the vent filter.

Question can you over pack the wheel bearings? When I do it I fill it completely up with grease and fill the cap. I’m asking because I have a wheel bearing or something that keeps getting hot and starts to sling some grease out of the cap after 30-40 miles. 68 f250 drum breaks

That drain plug is so bad...lol. You should make yourself something.....maybe out of plastic....that you can use to drain it without making a huge mess every time. I have a 92 Ford truck....and thankfully there is some distance between the drain plug and the crossmember. That crossmember can get so absolutely loaded with grease, if your engine leaks oil or coolant...lol.
