We literally could go to sleep one night, in relative comfort of electricity, food supply, fuel, and safety, and while we sleep all is finally snatched away by some means or another. That which we have long prepared for, is at the door right now.

Yes. I went to sleep one night and an hour later got a call that my son had stopped breathing. He went into cardiac arrest and within a few hours my entire life changed when he passed away. We cannot know what tomorrow or even the next few hours will hold. I wasn't "prepared" to lose my son, but my son and I WERE prepared for many other things.😢

I have a feeling 2024, up to the election, is going to be a wild ride never seen before in this country. The warm up to it is pretty wild too. 😢 How so many people don’t see it is beyond me. Thanks AG. Have a happy, safe and peaceful new year.

There is a wild ride coming for sure. It's all planned. The "election" is another excuse to drive people apart. Whoever they put as the figurehead is the same plan as they have used for so many previous 'administrations'. It's coming; prepare for what they will put us through to bring everyone to accept their rule.

Cloth diaper and plastic pants for baby’s, it’s good to store even if you don’t have kids, there could be parents around you that you could give or barter with! I also buy 2 in 1 shampoo conditioner for emergencies instead of separate, I don’t normally use it but I think I’ll use it, buying separate costs a lot more. Fire starters like matches or flint in abundance. Charcoal for cooking. Tarps and plastic sheeting.

Thank you AG! I would add clothespins and clothesline. Good oral hygiene will help ward off infections. Have a variety of Listerine mouthwashes on hand as well as baking soda, clove oil and coconut oil. Sturdy books, shoes, and socks are key to ward off injuries, fungal infections etc. Having a variety of foot products is wise. Also keeping waterproof spray, rubber sealant, leather conditioner etc. will keep your outdoor footwear protected and in good condition for a long time.

My mother's nurse friend gave her "Good Samaritan Ointment" when I was very young. It 'drew' out infections and thorns, etc. We looked high and low for it for many years. I found PRID ointment that works OK, but maybe yours is better. There are bath wipes at Dollar Tree and I got a good buy on a case of them at Sam's Club. I have almost everything I can think of. I have sacrificed room to store it. I have gotten very creative with places to put them. In fact, as a quick stop at a thrift store, I found a small, upholstered hassock that is a storage cube just yesterday.

Thanks AG, good to see some non food essentials reviewed to have on hand. We never know, seems each week that not only prices keep going up, that something will suddenly be in short supply or completely sold out for weeks. Our closest Dollar Tree has had some very low stock on a lot of things. Went in a couple of days ago and their aisle with the foil, plastic bags, trash bags and so forth was almost completely out, they were trying to fill in all of those empty spots with things like dishes and glassware. I like the pencil boxes, they are great to keep some meds secure when you travel, we just flatten the box (like for over the counter meds like Pepto, intenstinal upsets, pain relievers and bandaids and ointments, need the boxes to have the dosage and other details with the meds). Once you travel and then can't find something if you don't feel well (happened to us once) , you'll always keep a box like this in your suitcase. Many pharmacies overseas can be very different than your neighborhood Walgreens, so might not have something you need or the product isn't effective. Happy New Year to all!

Cotton balls and vaseline have many uses, including firestarters. I use them for my fire pit, stuffed in the ends of toilet paper or paper towel tubes.

Walmart Equate brand flushable wipes are good and a good price. What about having these as a backup for toilet paper since they don't take up as much space?

Even though they say the wipes are flushable, I recommend you do not flush them as they eventually clog-up the pipes!

We have to stay vigilant because we have discernment or common sense to see & know what we know. This "is" the calm before the storm bc we can hardly afford what we need now without the added burdons of 8 new million mouths to feed plus growing every day. DO your best is all we can & need to do. Heart clear & still continue til.🤨

I’ve always tried to be prepared for anything! I look at it this way I’m prepping with food and etc. If the war or weather or powers that be prevented food shipments etc. from delivery I’m prepared! If everything goes ok I’ve got a big supply of food I need to buy anyway! I think most everyone knows our childhood story of the grasshopper and the ants! 🙏🏼🇺🇸I know everyone remembers 911 SURPRISE AND SHOCK ! We’ve never had open borders as now !!!

You've abbreviated the "French bath" by dropping out the original second word. Maybe the word was dropped because children were around. Anyway, the original of the longer phrase is as follows: prostitutes would freshen up between clients with a wash cloth and not a full bath, the quick refresh is the "French [missing word] bath". Perhaps call the cleaning technique "the quick refresh bath" or something and leave "French" off altogether too. It doesn't matter, but that is the phrase's origin.

My husband is a OTR trucker. Years ago, while parked for the night, he saw a lot lizard hop down from one truck, splash herself (ahem 🤢) in a puddle between it and the truck next to it, and climb into that next truck. He still gets a bit nauseated telling that story lol

And yes, that is the origin. I'm surprised it's not more common knowledge.

My mother-in-law was a real lady. She called a brief bath a "bird bath.". I also call it a sink bath. In just a few minutes, you can get very clean with a little soap and water. This may be important in times to come.

@@louisiananana652 A friend of mine used to do a brief bath in the locker room after a workout and before going back to her desk. She wasn't really sweaty or anything. She called it the original saying and would laugh. "Bird bath" or "brief bath" is good phrase. I do this sometimes if I am in a hurry and not dirty. My dermatologist thinks we all bathe too much anyway. He recommends quick showers using a. mild soap. I have dry skin, so that's good for me. Other people with other conditions may need to bathe differently, but I don't sweat a ton and my skin is dry, so "bird baths" are fine sometimes, and quick showers in warm water with a mild soap the rest of the time work well.

Creating pollution is not the best option. If things get that bad you will not have factories making these things. You may want to slowly get used to that fact. We were campers before all these things came out. I would not eat food that came from chemically, perfume horrid tasting hands that perfume always works its way into the food. Gross. We would use soap on a wood shelf. Rinse out things and throw on a bush to dry...talk about a fresh air scent...
