Hi Prerna, just to add to this informative video- Organza’s which are hand painted are generally pure silk organzas. There are various organza qualities these days but most of the digital printed floral ones are semi-organzas and they will only set will when they have embroidered borders to weigh them down hence giving a better drape :)
@natashaparisa88752 жыл бұрын
Really!! I just wanted to buy an organza, but didn't wanna spend too much on the heavy embroidered one. I'm short and I don't wanna wear something that'll not set properly. Thank God I didn't buy.
@tanayamohanty48212 жыл бұрын
@@natashaparisa8875 You should try ones with minimal embroidery- lots of options and drape well :)

Very good video. Now we know the detailing you put in your videos come from ..that is your genes. Aunty ji ne accha explain kiya. I watch all your videos. I am not so much into styling but I love watching your content and learn a lot. Btw I really admire and respect the way you put low budget items too as you are happy and know what you are buying. Instead of mocking low stuff like many people would do, you nicely put it that you buy whatever you feel like at that point in time irrespective of budget. I have a same rani pink Mysore silk saree with golden border in my wedding trouseau.

Excellent video, Prerna! My two bits worth while buying silks...1) a higher count or heaviness of the silk also points to good quality. For example. You get light weight Mysore silk with woven borders but which are not considered to be of premium quality. 2) buying silks from reputed shops also ensure that you're buying genuine silks.

One saree tip that i would like to share is that if you want check if anything is handmade or mahine made is that you can check it from the back side. Like for handwoven saree they use one thread to make one buta there will be a starting point and end point of a thread or zari, also because something is handmade then there are chances of minor imperfections. While in powerloom or you can say machine made saree will have fringes and it is machine made so there is no imperfections and if there is any so it will be all over the fabric or saree at same place.

My mom is exactly like yours..The knowledge that our moms have of the stuff, we are way behind..Also as aunty said jitna gur daloge itna hi meetha milega..It's not that you don't have to buy cheap stuff but we should appreciate if an item is expensive just because of the efforts put into it. Very good video. Both mom and daughter looking beautiful. Keep up the good work ♥️

I have real organza , that I purchased 15 years back. That organza is feather light and it is delight for summer office wear . I recently purchased another banarasi organza recently as Innis in tread but it was clearly different from the old original one .. why ?? Because they mix tissue threads & synthetic threads to make it affordable to all... and what a duplicate raw silk, katan silk, moonga silk is sold these days in affordable cost. I have my mom's sarees and my mother jn laws sarees in my wardrobe when I see those old original ones and today's fabric there is no match, whatever I have is a gem .. and with your ideas the old ones can be styled to new ones 🙂

Handmade chikenkari fabric --- there will be knots from back side of the fabric which are bit costier. On the other hand , machine made chikenkari fabric --- will be identical from both the side are kinda on affordable side Handmade embroidery leaves many knots behind the side but, machine-made leaves few threads hanging on the reverse side to make a smooth finish.
