Stayed at the historic St. Michael last summer. Great place if you don't want to sleep. Very noisy at night with bar patrons, motorcycles and car racing their engines at the stop lights. The hotel gives you ear plugs but that's not enough. As for a new hotel on Whiskey Row? I say no. I like it the way it is.

You're right - anyone who chooses to stay at the St. Michael should be prepared to be "part of the show" until the curtain comes down. And now, with our "X" crossing at Montezuma and Gurley, the offending cars stay even longer at the light. If the St. Michael is on your "historic hotel" bucket list, great! But we now have more options, still within walking (stumbling) distance!

St Mike's is my go to when I'm nearby , breakfast at the Bistro is the best...
