I thank you and all the people who liked the video before me who helped the Algorithm get your video to me... You're clear and concise and have given me a clear picture.

Nice video explaining the "how to" aspects of writing a paper. I especially enjoyed the examples. I'm posting this for my students.

THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH. This video has been more than helpful. I'm a physics major and I can solve differential equations any day, writing a phil essay was down right impossible. But you cleared it all up for me.

I tend to deceive my English and History teachers by adding a bunch of fluff in my papers, so watching this video was pretty helpful. Being concise is key

This has diffused a lot of the complexity I thought went into a philosophy paper. Thanks alot

Thank you very much! I just entered college and I'm taking a philosophy class. Thanks to my ADD and CAPD, I struggle to understand much of what my teacher rambles about in class. This, however, was very clear, even for a guy whom struggles to pay attention! I have a huge essay to write for my mid-term tomorrow. It is going to be timed (3 hours) and I will use what was shown in the video to hopefully save my education! I'll comment here tomorrow to let you know how I did. Thank you Sir!

I passed that essay with a 97%. I figured out the proper way to write a philosophy paper. I basically mimicked an author's writing in the book our teacher was making us read. My best advice: - be very precise in expressing what you're trying to say (don't leave out details) - use what was explained in the video above before making an argument and to create a foundation for your explanation (building on it will be a breeze) - guide the reader through your essay (hold their hand through it step by step) --- EXAMPLE: Thesis statement: I will argue that if a person unnecessarily inflicts pain on an animal that wasn't a threat to the common person, it renders as an immoral act. --- Argument #1: 1. Pain was inflicted on an animal that wasn't a threat 2. The pain inflicted was unnecessary 3. Therefore, the pain inflicted renders as an immoral act. ...You could say something like this in your essay to build on your thesis statement + arguments... "In order to understand why inflicting unnecessary pain on, exclusively, an animal, we must first understand how animals do not have the logical capabilities of a human and how a human is capable of feeling empathy. " ...You could bring up another argument to back up your first argument... Argument #2: 1. Humans feel pain 2. Humans are capable of feeling empathy and have logical capabilities 3. Therefore, humans can understand how animals feel and know what is moral and immoral This helped me at the time as well: www.american.edu/cas/philrel/pdf/upload/tips.pdf Please use at your discretion, it's been a while and I'm not studying this stuff anymore. Good luck!
