- Good morning, Mr. Ramsey. Thank you very much for coming. - Thank you for scheduling the interview. - Have you visited our offices before? - No I, have not. I have toured your headquarters in Los, Angeles California. - Well let's get started. Tell me about your education as it relates to our job. - Well, I have studied various fields of business for many years. I received my Bachelor's degree from the University of Southern California in business and I have decided to begin working on a Master's degree in finance there as well - That's an excellent University. They have won many awards for their business programs. Has there been any additional training that you have received in this field? - Yes, I have received a certification of leadership from Harvard University. - Very nice. How long ago did you complete that certification? - That was two years ago, - Have you found that useful? - Yes, it has helped me to have a greater understanding of how to lead a group of people and also how to encourage others to become leaders as well. - Well, that's, quite valuable. Let's move on now to your experience. Have you worked for any other companies that do what ours does? - Well, no, not specifically that is. However, I have worked in a related field when I was a director at Standard Chartered Bank - I see. Why have you decided that this position is the right one for you? - I would like to use my abilities and a more expanded way, especially in a management role, and your company has an excellent reputation for developing leaders. - This is true. We are well known for that. Give me an example of how you have responded to the pressure of being a leader in the past. - Well, on one occasion my team was given the assignment to put together a report on the company's progress in making new products. We were given two weeks to complete the report. Well, the next day, the deadline was moved up a full week, because of a visit of the Board of Directors. So, I met with the team to let them know about the change. I spoke to them about their great work in the past in similar situations and I pointed out the benefit that would come to the company and to them, if they were able to put in that extra time and effort to get the report done on time. And I also, let them know. I would be right there alongside them working with them. So, the result was that we actually finished the report and day before the new deadline. - Well done. Just one more question. Is there anything else that you have done that would make you a good candidate for this position? - Yes, I have learned to speak two foreign languages: Spanish and Chinese and I feel. this would make me even more valuable to your company as it begins to expand internationally. - That sounds handy. Thank you for letting me know. Well, Mr. Ramsey. Thank you for your time today. it was/has been a pleasure speaking with you. I will present the recommendations to our chief executive officer, and you should hear back from us by next Monday. - Thank you very much Mrs Mantiple. I am very much excited about the opportunity to be a part of your company.
