Mom asked Tilly (niece) to watch the oven light and alert her when it turns off. Tilly (without missing a beat) says, "I ain't meant for lovin', I'm meant for watching the oven".

This poem is so moving. I always say that adults should pay more attention to children, because they truly enjoy the simple joys, beauties, and wonders of the world. Let go of your distractions and just take in the blessings of everything that's/everyone who's around you which you often take for granted. Most people will find true peace in those quiet moments. Thank you for sharing this with us, Misha. ❤

Children can cut thru all the fat of things & get right to the bone! Simplistic in a very VERY down to earth way! Listen to them parents before they get muddled with society ills-news of the day, unsettled disputes with neighbors, fellow students, officials of local, city, state, federal government, ma & pops general interaction of displeased day to day issues, and so much more! The whirlwind of famous can take them into a confusion of what’s real! Love you Misha/CASS, we so very miss SPN! Blessings to you, family & friends!

"You my dad." Says a little boy with whom I share no blood. With his sire turned away I relish all the love in those words That HE chose to reject. But where did this baby learn this? Not from me. Seriously brought to tears. What a beautiful perspective misha. It’s so easy to get caught up in our “go go go” adult attitude that we forget the little things. That we neglect the seemingly small yet actually giant joys of our present experience. It’s really a critique on the always productive nature we have conditioned everyone to be in that we don’t fully appreciate or absorb the moments we have. It’s always about the next thing instead of what we are currently experiencing. We look back on these moments as “oh I wish I was back there” but what we mean is “I wish I was really present then”. Those moments went too quick because we allow them to slip by. We think of them as rewards instead of the true purpose behind human existence. I am forever drawn to a simple and silly quote from zombie land at my darkest or most stressful moments “Rule #32 enjoy the little things.”

That final line gets me every time. I have been listening to your book of poetry with my eyes closed. Odd for me to watch you read. I prefer eyes closed. It helps me to immerse myself in your world. I don’t know if you will ever see this comment but I hope you are happy with your book. It is a lovely collection. Very vulnerable. Tender. Relatable. Unexpected. Beautiful. The only thing I would prefer in your next collection is for your producer/publisher to give you just slightly longer pauses between poems in the audiobook. I like to linger in the pauses and savour the imagery and emotions before I have the space for the next. Great work, Misha. Thank you for shaking me, waking me from my slumber and showing me a new way. - Tania 💖

I once passed a bus journey playing Peek-a-Boo and Flying Bird Hands and other subtle, siily games With a toddler whose phone slipped from his grasp unheeded. Part-way through, when we were well-established in our wordless communication Dad looked up, nudged Mum and both watched, fascinated Two more phones slid into laps. We parted, never knowing names But two young parents learned to know their child.

Whose woods these are I think I know. His house is in the village, though; He will not see me stopping here To watch his woods fill up with snow. My little horse must think it queer To stop without a farmhouse near Between the woods and frozen lake The darkest evening of the year. He gives his harness bells a shake To ask if there is some mistake. The only other sound's the sweep Of easy wind and downy flake. The woods are lovely, dark and deep, But I have promises to keep, And miles to go before I sleep, And miles to go before I sleep. (This is my favorite poem by Robert frost) ❤️

It is the world we live in, unfortunately. I feel that something big must happen in ones life to really change our habits.. where we place our eyes, our ears and our energy. I "was" that parent for a couple of years, but about 6 years ago i took my kids to the water park, i took a photo of them at the entrance, posted it on social media and said "Last photo, Phone away so I can play with the kids" and I did, I put it in the parks locker and went on to have one of the best days (as a mother) ever. After collecting my phone from the locker at the end of the day, I could have checked my page, I could have gone back into "mobile mode".. but i didn't and I have never been back on social media or posted a single thing since that day at the water park. Also parents, give yourself a little break, we are only human and can only deal with a toddler (by ones self) for so long before you want anything else to be happening. It's life, and as the kids get older, you will find the roles reversed; you will truly want to hang out with your kids, but it will be them now that will be too busy. Circle of life.
