Brought me such joy to see these clouded leopards and I was fortunate to pet these beauties when in worked at at NYC hotel where they were staying with Jack Hanna overnight to go on Good Morning America. Utterly mesmerizing and they should be protected from the horrid people who are dead set to destroy their species. Thanks for posting BBC🙏.

The Clouded leopard has always been one of my absolute favourite Cats. They are just such beautiful animals. Apparently the indonesian peoples call this animal ''tree tiger'' and are not that far off because the Tiger and the Clouded leopard are both Pantherines. Everything about them is just amazing and (or) beautiful.

I live in Malaysia.. My home near the forest.. One day, there is some noisy in my backyard n when i go out to see what going there,i saw a pair of cloud leopard..it was so beautiful creature n so friendly even they from the wild.. I saw it for 1st time n last time because later it dont come to my house anymore.. I am worried what happen to them..

@Idk ___ Good point! But it looks like the breeding in captivity is already happening... However, it sounds like there needs to be more wildlife centres and zoos to get involved in raising more clouded leopards. Videos like this one are great to get the idea out to sanctuaries and zoos that would hopefully be interested.

Fun fact: Clouded Leopard are believed to be the closest living relatives of the smilodon.

For your information. This clouded leopard wasn't caught from nature but brought up at the clouded leopard breeding project in the Khao Kheo national park of Thailand. The aim of the project is to breed more clouded leopards, send them back to forests to compensate the lost in their numbers due to deforestation of south east Asia, and send them all over the world's zoos to help preserve their genes.

Leopards (Panthera Pardus) also can climb down trees face first, although i'm not sure their "ankles" also rotate the same way like cloudys...

Norwegian forest cats can also rotate their back paws and climb down a tree headfirst. They have the same kind of muscular body and shorter legs as well.
