Great advices 😍 I'm starting to learn my aussie to stand in a one place, but it's not easy as she's very impatient. I've hope we will be able to get perfection by practising 😄

Your videos are very helpful for a first time handler. I am currently training myself and my 8mo aussie. We have signed up for our first confirmation. Any tips for the 6m-under 9m class?

Fallon Johnson Thanks!! I would say make sure your dog has fun! While the goal is to win, it’s important that your dog learns this is a positive thing! The winning will come much easier down the road if they love to show. Most Judges will understand puppy goofiness and let some stuff slide anyways 😉

How do you get into showing Aussies? I want to buy a show quality pup, but that has been very difficult
@sandollaraussies
@sandollaraussies Жыл бұрын
My neighbors had them growing up and my parents actually found the first show Aussie for me when I was younger! Best bet is to find a breeder local to you as well as a local AKC or ASCA club to join. Go to events and start meeting people. Then it should be easy!

I think I must have missed it, where in the video do you talk about A Frame?

I have a question,, I bought a puppy a couple months ago that was super fluffy now he is 5 months old and he has lost a lot of coat is this normal or is there something I should be doing to get his coat built back up?
@sandollaraussies
@sandollaraussies 3 жыл бұрын
Definitely normal! His coat will never be as soft as it was as a puppy and during the transition to adult coat can look pretty rough. But by 1 his adult body coat will come in and by 2 the long furnishings you see in males should be there.

Where can we get a show lead like that and what's the best bait? Or a few good baits
@sandollaraussies
@sandollaraussies 2 жыл бұрын
I get all my leads from the show vendor Paws & Tails. You can find them on Facebook! My favorite bait options are hot dogs, cheese sticks, or chicken. They all break easily and are big enough to get the dogs attention really well.

Also do you have a video on how and when to start puppies on stacking?
@sandollaraussies
@sandollaraussies 2 жыл бұрын
As early as possible! I don’t have a video on puppy stacking. With my next litter I will try to get more puppy videos done. First just practice stand stay, they picking up and placing the foot (doesn’t have to be perfect), then you can move on to placing the feet exactly how you want once they are comfortable with you moving the feet and staying.

You mentioned squeakers. Is that allowed at dog shows? I am about to start showing our 6 mo old, or will be 6 mo old in May and I was thinking about squeakers to get that expression that we all want.
@sandollaraussies
@sandollaraussies 3 жыл бұрын
Yes they are allowed! Although they can be distracting for other dogs so just be careful to use it only when the Judge is looking for your dog’s expression 😉

Good video! My collar always falls down and I constantly figit with it. How do you get it to stay up on the neck?
@sandollaraussies
@sandollaraussies 4 жыл бұрын
Lynn De la Torre Thanks! Before you let go to stand in front after stacking, place the collar under the chin and tighten up. Keep a tight hold on the leash/collar until you are in position, THEN loosen up to bait in front. It should stay in place as long as the dog doesn’t make any sudden movements!
@sandollaraussies
@sandollaraussies 4 жыл бұрын
Watch what I do about 4:30. I adjust the collar first and keep a tighter hold on the leash until I’ve backed up to where I want. Then let go and the collar stays

Lucija Beslic In the ring I normally use chicken, hot dogs, or cheese sticks. Those are easy to hold in my armband and break off pieces of.

@@sandollaraussies Thank you so much for answer🥰. I actually have a big problem with a Samoyed(yes, Samoyed even that tey are very food motivated😂). When we train at home he is very good and look at my hand even if I don't hold anything, but at the show..... it's a different dog😂
@sandollaraussies
@sandollaraussies 4 жыл бұрын
Lucija Beslic haha sounds like he may be easily distracted! I’d suggest bringing out the big guns like steak or liver ONLY in the ring. Practice at home with something more bland. Just be warned he may get too excited in the ring with something that good. 😂
