The Crighton Norton twin rotor was the only other 2 cyl rotary made in numbers. Awesome thanks for showing it.

Vanagon still used an air cooled engine in '76, so it was a mk1 Rabbit that shared the same coolant hose.

These old Van Veens are rare as "Hen's Teeth" and should be in a "Museum" I Remember seeing them in a Magazine in the "Mid 70's" But Never actually Saw One in the metal. From what I have read, these Motors were mean't for a "Car" which Never reached the development stage. So, they made a Motorcycle out of the engines. Hence the Van Veen OCR1000.

If I remember correctly, the Van Veen OCR 1000 engine was that built by the NSU-Citroën collaboration Comotor project and fitted to the Citroën GS Birotor which went on sale in October 1973 (alongside the 4-cylinder boxer Otto-engined GS cars) but was withdrawn within months after less than 850 units had been sold. And the original plan included the later, larger CX with a three-rotor Wankel (as a Trirotor) but that did not go ahead (and the CX used only 4-cylinder IL Otto and Diesel engines) - so perhaps there could even have been a Van Veen OCR 1500 :) As a boy, I was entranced by the Van Veen OCR 1000 and still have a contemporary framed poster of it and several magazine articles.

Nice. Very interesting. I remember when I was a kid about the RO 80 from NSU. Good motor, but if something breaks your screwed. I am from Germany.😊

My lifetime dream motorbike. Once in a while one shows up for sale in The Netherlands or Germany, they go for about 85,000 Euro, that would be around $93,000. The models that they built with old parts, the maximum they can build is 10 bikes, I believe that there are still a few that can be ordered. The price of those was 85,000 Euro without taxes I believe, not sure about the current price.

Obviously, I've been trying to follow them,. But the original ones don't come up for sale. One sorted would be cool.

Fuchs Motorrad has 2 on their website as "sold". As far as i remember the price of last one was above € 80.000. The Museum "PS.Speicher" has one in exhibition. Driving Presentation: kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y4aaimtom9-loLM&ab_channel=PS.SPEICHER
