I was one of those lucky kids. I struggled in schools but kicked ass at crafting things. I learned so much from Eric and loved going to the Blue Ox.

Eric Hollenbeck has discovered the answer to the public education crisis in America...not everyone needs a shower before work! God bless you, Mr Hollenbeck, for your military service and your incredibly insightful public service...

I've never needed a politician, entertainer or political analyst.....but I have always needed a carpenter, electrician and plumber !! God bless Mr. Hollenbeck and the opportunity he provides for the brilliant young minds that come under his care.

Well done Sir, perfect role model, this is something I want to do, here in the UK, but for children with learning difficulties.

This really hits home for me. I was a “troubled” kid. Didn’t know my value or potential, didn’t fit in with the standard model. Took me years to find that on my own and I really wish I would have had someone like him in my early years to help me find it…making things with my hands is the only thing that makes me truly happy these days though I didn’t learn that until I was in my late 20s early 30s…

He cared to give the kid his time and attention, that validated him and gave him self esteem. Our system doesn’t care and when people need time and attention they are cast off and forgotten. 🙏🏻Thank You for taking the time to invest in another human being! It is the best investment we can make as humans and it will get paid forward. 🙏🏻

That was one great jr high counselor. I had trouble all through school, not braking the rules kind of trouble, but trouble compleating the busy work. I always tested the highest in my class but could care less to do the work. Not once did our counselor meet with me, if I had a counselor like that I dare to bet that I would have gotten an education that fit my personality rather than the one size fits all education that American schools provide.

What's the expression? You'll think a fish an idiot if you judge it by it's ability to climb a tree? This guy gets that. We're surrounded by geniuses we might never know cause we threw them away rather than find their mastery.

This guy should hook up with Mike Rowe. They are both on the same track it seems. Sadly they are right. We’re loosing craftsmanship in America.
