Do you have to peel them before canning them?

Peaches are perfectly safe to can with the skin on, so there's no strict reason that you HAVE to peel them. But most people choose to peel them for texture reasons and because some say leaving the peel on imparts a slightly bitter taste to them once canned and stored for long periods of time.
