Preserving roses in wax

Today I'm preserving roses in wax using parafina wax melted with hot water

Has anyone tried dipping a rose into wax, then taking the waxed rose and putting it into resin? If so did it last? What did it look like years later?

@@kimberlyzarko you can preserve roses in silica beads until dry and then resin set them they last forever

Tried these. The second day they all turned brown and loosed it’s color. Sadly.

The problem is that there is still moisture in these plants. Until that moisture is gone, the organic material has the potential to discolor and rot. Encasing it in wax doesn't stop this process. While this method can, in theory, preserve a rose for a couple of months, some colors fade much quicker than others (light colors, for example, will turn brown faster) If you want to preserve a rose indefinitely, you have to feed it glycerin for several days before the waxing process.

As long as its white or the same color as your flower it should he ok
