Truly insightful and learned a whole lot more about Carter in just under 10mins. Many lessons indeed and what a true leader. Thank you for sharing.

He also wrote the book (Palestine, peace not apartheid) which I would say it is infinitely worse than apartheid in 1srae1.

I was in a Jesuit school in the US in 1989. The events in Beijing (Tiananmen Square) were seen by our professors with caution. It is possible, one of them cautioned me, that what is happening is not a pro-democracy movement against communist hardliners, as was portrayed in the press, but perhaps the old guard communists, trying to reform communism along with Russia's Gorbachev, against a new pro-corporate global totalitarian regime. The old communists lost and were displaced. I always thought his words seemed prophetic.

The CCP had little problem instituting and FORCEFULLY enforcing the 1 child policy, requested of them by “the west”, in order to quell their “population problems”, and required for the CCP’s joining the “internationalists’ economy. Hung ho on THAT. But at best, lukewarm on religious freedom. Odd. And of course the results of those actions and undertakings have borne out til this day.

Carter: sincere like a dove and naive like a dove. Deng Xiaoping: deceitful like a snake and smart like a snake. Trump: Sincere like a dove and smart like a snake.

There is a reason Jimmy Carter was soundly defeated after 1 term - a term that he himself admitted was far from successful on almost all levels.

Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice shame on me. America should learn from their past mistakes dealing with the CCP.

Why not? Some people only watch shorter videos, it's good if they get informed too. I just let them run in the background for the algo instead.

Theres a video here on KZbin of presidents Nixon Carter and Reagan all reiterating that Taiwan is recognised as part of China. That is my lasting memory of him. RIP

Taiwan is part of China okay, in the sense that Taiwan holds the vestige of the LEGAL government of the old mainland (case in point, the ROC).

Long story short, it's Mainland CN that's a part of Taiwan and not the other way around
