Can you use this antenna as a base station? I just ordered a McKinley and one of these New York antennas to use as a base and I’m hoping to get at least some decent reception.

Believe me or not, I talked 45 miles to a base station from a mobile on one of these. And carried on a conversation for about 6 minutes as I was moving. Really great antenna.
