President Reagan and Nancy later said how surprised they were by their deep sense of loss over Sadat, whom they had met only two months earlier. You get to know world leaders quickly in the role, Reagan said, and forge a common bond that very often leads to a real friendship.

We have lost a great leader. I didn't live in his time, but my father thanked him. When I grew up and saw his speeches, I found him to be a very cultured, civilized and brave man. thank you. Rest in peace Mr. President Mohammed Anwar Al Sadat and greetings from Egypt to former US President Reagan

Just awful how they gunned him down without any mercy, he wanted peace for all of the middle east so he reached out to Israel and for that his life was brutally cowardly taken and another chance at peace was gone

They were extremists used Islam as a shield, even though Islam doesn't support their beliefs, sadat stopped them and gave them a 2nd chance, they ruined it, he jaled them again. We need to be neutral not extremists. RIP all great leaders, Peace.

He actually freed Islamic extremists of the Muslim Brotherhood whom his predecessor (Nasser) had locked up. They turned on him and assassinated him. You probably remember hearing when those same Muslim Brotherhood got in power and held the presidency (and a large portion of the parliament) for an entire year, between the 2011 revolution that ousted Mubarak and the 2013 revolution that ousted Morsi. Suffice it to say, their reign during that one year from 2012 to 2013 was bad, and the Egyptian people rebelled again after just one year.

Mr Davis you are absolutely wrong!! You need to read more about Egyptian history. Nasser is the one who put them in jail and Sadat did the opposite. He freed them so he can use them against communists. Please read about others history before commenting, it’s really offensive!
