We have problem in Rwanda, people with Kagame (almost all from his ethnic group) control everything, there have easy access to jobs, business, and all repeat his version. Ask your friend, if he's in rwanda, he can't talk anything different from official version otherwise his dead!, if he is outside the country he's more likely from same ethnic group with Kagame. That is the deep problem in rwandan society, when you have power every one must be at your side otherwise he is designed as enemy and must be eliminated.

hutu tutsi, democracy does not have to work thaw same in every country. Now the meaning of the word democracy in simple terms means one man, one vote and the majority wins. In other words the people have a say so over what happens with the inter workings of the government. So the fact that the majority of the people in Rwanda could vote on changing the constitution so that Kagame could run for a third term is in fact proof of a democratic state. Before you start talking all that crazy shit be advised, that the rest of the world has seen what happens to a country when the people no longer wants an incumbent leader to stay in power. The elections get very violent and bloody which has yet to happen under this leader.

Indeed, many people wrongly limit the definition of democracy to political alternation, or even to the existence of opposition parties. Democracy must guarantee individual freedoms; however, the West by imposing political governance or a political regime on the countries of the world without taking into account the socio-cultural context and values of these countries, infringes the individual freedoms of their citizens. This Western dictatorship has led to conflicts and wars in several countries of the world. For example: Iraq, Syria, Libya, Sub-Saharan Africa countries and so on. It is impossible to impose political governance or political regime in Morocco or Saudi Arabia, because the people of these countries have been accustomed to royalty for several centuries. By Bertrand Ngnie

@@t_chak that’s just it, Democracy means different thing to different cultures. We constantly get tangled up in this quagmire of legal debates. Just because something is made “legal” doesn’t make it right or morally just. For an example, it was the Democratic Part in America who felt it was their right to own other people and it was legally recognized by the Government, but was it morally right and/or just? Right now in America police are killing black peoples with “qualified immunity” which is also legally recognized by the Government. However, it’s not moral or just. The people Of Rwanda have collectively banded together to change their constitution so that they can keep the leader the they are happy with. Now to some in the international community, who by the way had no problem standing by while Rwanda was falling apart, this is considered illegal. However there are no term limits on American senators, congressman, or House Representatives. There are no term limits imposed on Canadian leaders. Angela Merkel of Germany has been in her position for over 15 years and counting but we don’t hear anybody raising any concerns about that. That said, we can morally argue that the same logic being used against President Kagame’s tenure, can and should be imposed on leaders from other countries as well. However, from a “legal” standpoint, outsiders of America, Canada, or any European country cannot try and dictate terms and conditions to which leaders stay or go regardless of morality!!!

You need 1st to understand that RDC(former Zaïre) issues of wars/tribalðnics fighting, corruption issues all started before Rwanda President was even born. After 1994 genocide against Tutsi in Rwanda, France soldiers and their 100 thousand (taking forcefully with them 3-4 millions innocentcivilians to be used as huma shields)went straight to RDC after being defeated by RPA rebels led by current Twanda President. Mobutu let these 100,000 armed genocidaires in Zaire and refused to disarmed them. They then start attacking Rwanda from RDC, the rest is history of mess in RDC(Zaïre), so you simply blame and simplify the issues of insecurity in RDC in 1 sentence, it is very complex. But with Tchisekedi diplomacy with its neighbors things are moving in the right direction. RDC issues are more complex and some powerful countries like USA/Western World are indirectly involved, neighbors cou tries of RDC are in most parts scapegoats. 98% of Congolese armed militia are local people.

We all know that Rwanda would revert back to 1994 if the situation in the Congo go un addressed .And the UN stands by idly and do nothing to resolve it.and the west does not want the Congo to thrive and the west will try and bring Rawanda down by using the situation it the Congo. Great and blessed is you for the love you have to my fellow Africans. You built Rwanda with the Rwandese and no human right organization saved the children of the soil in Rwanda during the genocide. Live long.

I have been to Kigali in 2019. amazing city, people, cleanliness OMG unbelievable, super security, I used to roam around in the city at night till 3am morning alone without any fear. very safe. safest country. weather is so good, fruits are so fresh. one of the best country to invest, save, and live happily. govt is providing so many facilities for the investors.

Let the development of the country and the society determine whether the government is good or bad. You can't say one is a good president when you have your kids sitting under the tree for school.

Africans it’s time we wake up, especially Rwanda’s. We have a lot of francophone countries in Africa that the French has been exploiting using their leaders and these so called human right activists and democratic leaders have refused to do nothing or tell their leaders who’s been ruling for decades to step down. Now we got one good leader who is loved by his people and they trying to cause confusion because they genuinely don’t want anything good to come out of Africa. Rwanda’s better learn from Libya, they still suffering the consequences of not standing by Gaddafi. Let kegame be, He’s loved by Africans.

I like Kagame's objectivity and the uneasiness he creates when he answers questions designed to disguise intent and uphold continued western ruthless exploitation in Africa, as usual the western audience fall silent when their narrative is challenged...in their minds, this Kagame dude is surely not African, what can we do to get rid of him..lol The truth is that Rwanda has come a long way in a very short time and does not fit the Western narrative of African leadership, Kagame's achievements and love for his people is undeniable....it appears the west will not rest until he is dethroned. It is however refreshing to see that he doesn't feel need to defend nor justify himself when confronted with the denigrating narratives and I like that, he is a wonderful, purposeful and articulate gentleman, the fact he is a President is a bonus. The right to exploit with impunity disguised by charity is wrong, that narrative has lost all credibility, time to go back to the drawing board folks!

"We have countries that don't depend on aid we would look like those countries" best answer He was once asked why are you a leader of Rwanda without high level of education when there is other people who have higher education but they struggle to rule their countries. He said " you believe in God " the guy said yes. Then he said "God rules earth and heaven what school did he go to?"

This moderator or whatever we call him or call himself should stopped being bias. If he thinks democracy is universal and should be universal, the west should stop handpicks our leaders. Africans knows what is going on behind the political scene (scenario) but we can’t say much because most of our leaders are in bed with those plotting our downfall, because most of the leaders were and are hand picked from the same force because of all this big cooperations mining and looting our natural resources. They are lairs who lies between their teeth and turn around and call us names.

Paul Kagame is doing very well. 'Term limit ' in itself does not put food on the table. For me, its about development and well being. So, if Kagame is doing well, why do you boot him out in the name of 'term limit'. The history and culture of the people must be incorporated into its own unique democracy. There is nothing like universal western democracy. Democracy is universal but western democracy is only western democracy, as the name suggests. Rwanda must be respected and her historicity appreciated. Kudos Paul Kagame. You have done well. So, we can have Ghana, Rwanda, Malawi, Botswana, etc versions of their democracy that is suitable to culture and history. All being said, the democracy/governance system must benefit the citizens.

Africa is perishing for the lack of knowledge. Our leaders trusted white peoples too much not knowing that these are very people why Africa is poor among many nations today. President Kagame may God protect you from those people. Your intention towards Africa is great. I wish our President will followed your footsteps. Mizpah j Cole from Sierra Leone. Keep the fire burning sir.
